Why do they do that? Is it because they dont want to live in student accommodation? -
Re: How far would you commute to uni?
Takes me an hour and a half. If it was my first time at uni I would have moved there but it's my second and I'd already got a flat and all that jazz, so I commute! It's not too bad really, I quite like the train journey, and I wouldn't have wanted to live in halls again.

Re: How far would you commute to uni?I'm currently travelling between Sheffield and Huddersfield by train. There is one every hour and it usually takes between 1hr to 1hr:15mins. Because of my timetable I usually miss the train home by 5 mins, so I have to wait an hour. So officially it takes 2 hours (or there abouts) to and from uni but the extra hour waited makes it 3(Original post by GiveMeAChallenge)
I know probably most people would want to stay in student accomodation next to the uni but what do you think is the maximum distance to travel to uni from home? By car or train? 20mins? 30? 50?
It's annoying sometimes because the last train is something like 10pm but generally the travelling is pretty decent. I can relax on the train listening to music or catch up on reading - plus it's ALOT cheaper than actually living there

Re: How far would you commute to uni?
It depends how u commute. Sometimes (not in every case), taking the train is alottttt quicker. I live in London and my uni is London so it is better for me to commute rather than spend loads of £££ on accommodation. I can commute via train or bus, by train it takes just under an hour but by bus it can take up to 2 hours sometimes. But if I was in a uni far away, I would defo stay on campus. I think it also depends on your financial situation as well
