Re: Swansea University 2012! Hi there!
Just finished my first year. to all who havent sorted out their accommodation yet, apply for the student village. Its the bomb. While on campus u do get the benefit of rolling out of bed and being in ur lectures the village security are much more laid back and the village is always buzzing. The wonky sheep is an awesome pub on the village site and just, the village is the place to be. Woodside Mutha F**ker!

Re: Swansea University 2012! Hi there!
Firstly I would like to say, bigsamstew1992, that it's Village for the win! But I'm a red top girl so boo Woodside! =p... On a whole though the village really is an awesome place to stay for all you applying for accommodation, always a party going on somewhere and basically just a great, social place to be... Also a lot of fun during freshers with all the Woodside/Village banter! Word to the wise though; any of you with a car be sure to park it in front of a camera since as you'd imagine with all the drunken-ness and mischievous-ness people do tend to deposit things on them- my car was egged twice (maybe thats just because it's yellow though). Oh and if your in the front and on ground floor then remember to close your window if your not in your room in the night, may a can of beer have been tipped through into unsuspecting peoples rooms. Despite the little things your still sure to have a fab time if you live here!

Re: Swansea University 2012! Hi there!Their strictness with grades really depends on the department so no one can say for sure really. My boyfriend did the same course and was let in with grades lower than they asked for but this was 5 years ago so they might be a lot stricter now. Also, even if they have places available on UCAS, they won't know for definite how many places they have (if any) until they recieve the results and have looked through all the applicants marks.(Original post by royal91)
I applied to study business managment at swansea university
my offer was BBB but im pretty sure I got BDD... will they let me in... are they strict with grades... I did not have an interview with them... also I went on the ucas website and searched my course and it came up with a "x" next to it... which means they still have places?
I'm sorry this isn't really positive but good luck for Thursday. You might surprise yourself with your grades. I too thought the worse on the run up to the day and recieved better marks than anyone had predicted. Don't lose hope and try and relax

Re: Swansea University 2012! Hi there!Hi! I'm hoping to start in September too! Worried about results day but hey, who isn't? x I've applied for History (V100) as my insurance and History with Ancient History as my firm :P So yes, it is Swansea or bust for me but even if I get onto my firm course half of my lessons will be with you if we choose similar modules :P(Original post by Doofy)

& yeah! Glad I've found someone yay!
So nervous about everything tbh.
They want ABB from me too.. But I have hopefully passed Welsh Bacc so it should be 2 B's

Have you lived overseas? It's duration of residency rather than citizenship itself that determines fee status(Original post by royal91)
right so...
I Just received a fee assesment questionnaire from swansea university... they also sent me a letter saying from the information I provided on my ucas application, it is not clear whether i will be eligible to be charged fees at the home rate under the regulations 2007. I am a british citizen.. so I dont understand why I have to fill it in... does everyone have to fill one in?
Also It says if you are a british citizen... you need to provide a copy of my passport... I have photocopied it in black and white but you cant really see my photograph properly... does this matter... is this all I need?

Re: Swansea University 2012! Hi there!
Good luck for tomorrow! I kinda wish I was in your position knowing that I had three years of uni ahead of me, instead of the measly one I have left. It goes by so quickly! My advice? Get some sleep, don't be too nervous and if it doesn't go to plan remember to keep a level head and don't rush into anything because you whatever you do should be the one that will make you happiest in the long run.
