    What to do if your course begins before halls open?
    I'm starting a Geography course in Manchester Met Uni on the 1st of September but all the halls that I have looked at don't open until after the starting date does anyone have any ideas what I should do? :P Thanks

    Commute/ rent a city apartment for those few days/ weeks.

    Not sure if it's the same for all uni's, but at mine this happened for a few of my friends. They rang up accommodation and just paid an extra week's rent and moved in early

    If UCAS says that, it's not necessarily right-in fact in this case it seems to be wrong http://www.mmu.ac.uk/about/termdates/

    Find a cheap hotel...

    I didn't realise they were allowed to do that though, I thought they had to provide accommodation for all first years for the whole time?!

    This, quite often UCAS will state the first of whatever month your course starts on. I'm fairly certain Manchester's term doesn't start until the 17th September this year.

    ucas just puts the 1st september as a starting date by default and most unis dont bother changing it, the correct starting date will be on the man met website
