    It depends on your needs.

SaveonLaptops.co.uk - ASUS K53SD-SX101V: This laptop has the larger hard drive, and a better processor.

SimplyASUS.com - ASUS N53SV-SX858V: This laptop has a smaller hard drive and a worse (but not by much!!) processor. The difference with this laptop is that it has a Blu-Ray drive as opposed to a normal DVD drive.

If it was me buying I would get SaveonLaptops.co.uk - ASUS K53SD-SX101V. The bigger hard drive, better processor are things I would need and personally I have no need for a Blu-Ray drive.

The 2nd one has the better graphics card, otherwise go for the ASUS K53SD-SX101V the processor is better.

Like stumcd said it depends what do you need your laptop for. I would go for the 1st one as it has a good processor.

HP have build issues..........the processor is 1st gen, rams low and so is hard drive for that price.

I'm not a fan of ASUS but out of those two I'd go for the first one because it has a better processor.

Well other people are having issues, I even looked up reviews for your one and people are having issues with it's life expectancy.

If you tell us what you will be using the laptop for it would be easier to help.

You could look at reviews for any laptop and find negative ones. I have an HP G62-b32SA and have never had any problems.

Well you can ask any other tech guy on these forums, HP does seem to have an issue with build quality.

To be honest I don't expect my laptops to last that long anyway. It's coping a lot better than my dells ever did!

How long do most people actually keep their laptops for?

I got an offer the other day through the post to insure my laptop for 2 years but I've already had it 1 year and although it still works like it's brand new, this time next year I'll want to upgrade. I definitely wouldn't want it for another 2 years!

Re: which ASUS laptop to get?
well basically i dont know what laptop to get, cause now I have actually read a lot of bad reviews about the HP envy 15.

so anyways, i dont want a dell, as my previous laptop was a dell XPS and i had so much problems with that, and i dont want a HP.

Am basically going to be using the laptop for uni work and browsing the internet, also watching movies and tv. I dont play video games etc...

Am so confused as to which laptop to get??

If you really don't intend to play games go for the ASUS K53SD-SX101V. Either way, both laptops are similar to the point of there being next to no difference.

The specs are fantastic for that price, high end i7 processor, more than enough ram, loads of storage space, an amazing graphics card for a laptop might not be amazing for gaming but enough.

Remember it's an auction so your not guaranteed the laptop, looking it up the RRP of the laptop is close to a £1000.

Look at these other sites http://www.dabs.com
