Third years, how did you/do you cope with the workload?
I was on top of the workload up to Easter, but now it just seems impossible as the most important deadlines are coming up (e.g. an essay worth 80% of the module, my dissertation). I just feel overwhelmed.

How did/do you manage your time, and avoid anxiety/feeling down?
Thanks -

Gym. We were talking about this last night actually: until my 3rd year I did a lot of sport, and I went swimming now and then, but I never went to the gym. And then in my final year I developed a serious gym habit, because starting the day with a good work out really calms me down and keeps me focussed.
I also get meticulously organised. I had myself timetabled down to the half hour. Some people just find this more stressful, but I'm very sensible with timetabling (e.g. I built in a 10 minute break at the end of every hour, and gave myself 2 hours per lecture when I knew I only really needed 1 to 1.5, so I gradually got ahead of myself and had time to spare if I got stuck on something) so I just found it gave me back my sense of control. -

Break it up into smaller sections - for dissertation focus on 300 or 500 words a day for example.
Prioritise - obviously dissertation is high up there but if a long piece of coursework is only 20% of a low credit module don't spend much time on it.
Don;t work all the time or feel guilty with breaks - I find 40 - 60 mins on, then a 20 minute break works well. PLus long breaks for lunch and in the evening.
When you are working turn internet and phone off so no distractions.
Plan a treat for yourself for each week - once you get the work done do it/get it as a reward.
And there's a lot of people in the same situation, you;re not alone with this
