River Island ones, but from my personal experience the quality of clothes/shoes isn't that great so maybe go with Next just for quality sake.

The first ones look better, I find the detailing around the sides of the RI ones a bit ugly.

Go for the ones from next. They look better and they'll last longer, considering how river island skimp on quality.

Try and find something with a rounder toe.

Depends what type of office surely? A trading floor in the city is going to be different from a creative agency.
Just go with what ou like the most, ignore the people here

Are you sure you want perforated shoes? I don't think they look particularly professional, they remind me of sports shoes in some ways!

I don't think you can go wrong with something traditional like these:

    http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/store...OXFORD%2BSHOES

Or if you want something with a pointed toe:

    http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/store...NTED%2BBLUCHER

They cost a little more but they'll last longer and in my opinion are a lot smarter. Just a thought!

From experience I feel that Zara's clothes and shoes are of a better quality than those from River Island, and many people have advised against RI on here for that same reason!

I thought you were comparing next to the Next ones as well

I would completely agree with you on not getting the perforated ones though, they shouldn't be anywhere near an office.

Next are generally quite dependable - and they do seem like the ultimate officewear store :P

What do you think of the pairs I suggested for officewear? I don't think perforated works in any situation personally but at the very least they shouldn't be in a professional environment!

When did men's shoes get so damn pointy? Surely the point of being a man is that you don't have to squeeze your feet into insanely uncomfortable footwear for the sake of fashion.

I agree. That's why I prefer things like Oxfords, timeless formal shoes which you won't regret 5-10 years down the line! Men's feet are not pointed...

    How come you recommended these

    http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/store...OXFORD%2BSHOES

    over these:
    http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/store...WITH%2BCAP-TOE

I ordered second pair recently simply because they 'look' a little bit better quality and I'm hoping the higher price is there for a reason

I've actually gone for the second pair myself. They look a lot better. I only started looking properly after posting the first comment.

Good choice. What are you wearing them for?

I'm going to use them for interviews and formal events. Is that ok?

I actually have the pair from Next. Only wear them on casual Fridays with smart jeans though.
Bein a management consultant, these are too casual to wear when meeting clients. You'd need
something with a rounder toe box and less frills for that.
