Well basically my interests/hobbies just consist of watching TV, playing video games, socialising, masturbating, playing/watching sports, eating & surfing the web. I only have a handful of friends due to social anxiety although I would really love to meet new people. People who aren't shy & have loads of interests definately have an advantage in life. How do I become more like them while staying true to myself?

Have done but I can't exactly make a career out them I think I just have to increase my self-confidence & find people who accept me for who I am lol

I'm not referring to the "having more interests bit" for that part. I doubt I could ever increase my hobbies/interests & also stay true to myself from past experiences

Well i think i may have little SA (especially round people i haven't spoke to before). You can talk to people about TV, playing video games, playing/watching sports don't you listen to music? maybe see if anyone like the same music as you, which can be hard since everyone i know listens to the **** that's in the chart and i listen to mainly metal/punk rock/hard rock.

well then it sounds like you just need to cultivate more enthusiasm for what you already like.. maybe read around your current interests a little and make them grow

You can't force interests, you have interests anyway.
Gaming and sports are pretty commonplace.

I have some very odd interests and I tend to get on with people in their 40s and 50's better than I do people my own age, it's all about finding the common ground.

Perhaps sometimes it can but at the same time, these friends I have, if it wasn't for university, I wouldn't ever come across them. I've told this to them already so it's much more of work-related friendship than anything else.
