I've been offered a place on a Secondary MFL PGCE, but the department would like me to go on a 1-month Subject Knowledge Enhancement course in Spanish, to improve my employment prospects.

At my interview, they said that there will be some kind of grant/bursary to cover costs during the month (I will have a 45 mile commute each way, so petrol costs will be quite a bit, and obviously I won't be able to work while I'm on the course), but couldn't give any further details. I've done a bit of googling, but all I can find is information from 2010-11, for really long SKEs in Science subjects.

Has anyone else been asked to go on a 1-month MFL SKE, and do you know what the funding arrangements are?

I'm pretty sure they'll pay you around 200 per week (no tax)..
