Re: what happens at freshers?I think some of the initiations for teams like rugby make getting your head flushed sound like tea and cakes(Original post by Origami Bullets)
Well, there is such a thing as "initiation", which is generally conducted by second & subsequent years on freshers. My initiation didn't involve having my head flushed down a toilet, but yours might

OP. As everyone has said you get smashed most nights, grovel through some lectures, meet loads of new people. Then you try and correct your screwed sleep pattern and get some dialysis.
And you might get sharked. -
Re: what happens at freshers?Yes, true . . . sticking a digestive biscuit in a particular orifice, removing it, and then eating it was one I heard of, as well as having to drink . . . and drink . . . and drink, until they're sick, and then they have to eat it(Original post by roh)

That was all rugby, which is notorious, but I had an initiation (sorry, 'welcome drinks', the uni has banned initiations) for a different sport, and it wasn't that bad at all.

Re: what happens at freshers?I've heard of a carrot in a similar role and of welcomes (at unis, not mine) which descend way beyond that even(Original post by Origami Bullets)

Again, rugby.
Yeah, the welcome drinks do create a good bond between the Freshers though and make you feel part of the team very quickly, I've not heard of anything else like rugby either. I can't remember mine to be honest but being on the other side last year the Freshers seemed to be having a good laugh so I assume I did too!Last edited by roh; 19-04-2012 at 12:04. -
