Re: Why can't women drive in Saudi Arabiadepends on what kind of woman you are. Some love the safety/peace/comfort there is for women here. But women who are the productive/social/sporty types, or who wish to be independant in their purposes..well, u can imagine the pains there are for them.(Original post by cgraham15)
Aparrantly they can't sing in public either? :s
I wonder what the government would do if every single woman one day just got into their husband's car and drove
but seriously, worst place in the world for a woman. -
Re: Why can't women drive in Saudi ArabiaShame on your ignorance. As much as I dislike certain religions, Id never talk like this about them, because Im aware of the fact that I have put forth no effort in understanding them.(Original post by Danen)
because saudi arabia is the home of islam, which hates women. -
Re: Why can't women drive in Saudi ArabiaI'm sorry but the above crack the heck out of me!(Original post by crazycake93)

Re: Why can't women drive in Saudi ArabiaI wouldn't say they are hated. Yes they have the rights of a 2nd class citizen but it's not because they are hated. I think society/males do it more to protect them in a sense and to control them. I wouldn't say those laws are there out of hatred.(Original post by Hotrock)
Women are hated there. it's very sad how women are treated in those countries.
(I also lived in Saudi Arabia so I at least know what it is like to be a western woman living there.) -
Re: Why can't women drive in Saudi ArabiaThey'll be a second class citizen is this country to in around 60 years. which is actually a demographic fact.(Original post by laughylolly)

Re: Why can't women drive in Saudi ArabiaYou have put in no effort in understanding certain religions, so you 1) assume no-one else has either, and 2) feel justified in criticising some-one else's understanding of one? If you are totally ignorant on a subject, how can you make such a judgement?(Original post by violetta12)

Re: Why can't women drive in Saudi Arabiaits not exactly secret islam hates women. just not politically correct to say so,(Original post by violetta12)

Re: Why can't women drive in Saudi Arabia(Original post by weirdnessandcoffee)
It has nothing to do with Islam, I read somewhere online that they think women are uncontrollable and over emotional??
"nothing to do with islam"?
Where do you think they got those idea's from?
The women asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?" He said, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Bukhari (Book #6, Hadith #301) http://www.searchtruth.com/searchHad...earch_word=all
The Prophet (pbuh) said,“Whoever leaves her husband’s house (without his permission), the angels curse her until she returns or repents.” (Al-Mundhiri in At-Targhib wa At-Tarhib) http://www.al-islam.org/greater_sins_complete/6.htm
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "If a man Invites his wife to sleep with him and she refuses to come to him, then the angels send their curses on her till morning." (Bukhari. Book #62, Hadith #121) http://www.searchtruth.com/searchHad...rch_word=exact -
Re: Why can't women drive in Saudi ArabiaHonestly, if he HAD tried to understand Islam, he wouldn't have made that comment.Ever. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.(Original post by AdvanceAndVanquish)

Re: Why can't women drive in Saudi ArabiaYou know, it's very easy to justify your beliefs when you are willing to show ONLY one side of the story. The Prophet said in response to a man who asked him, "What are the rights of our wives over us?":(Original post by Truthman)

"An yut'imahaa idha ta'ima wa an yaksoohaa idhaa iktasaa wa laa yadhribi al-wajhi wa laa yuqabbih wa laa yahjur illa fiy al-baiti."

Also, The quran says:
{...Wa 'aashiroohunna bi al-ma'roofi fa in karihtumoohunna ta 'asaa an takrahoo shai'an wa yaj'ala Allahu feehi khairan katheeran.}
{...And consort with your wives in a goodly manner for, if you dislike them, it may well be that you dislike something which Allah makes a source of abundant good.} An-Nisaa:19
When Islam commands such just treatment of women, how in the world can it 'hate' women?
And about the hadith you posted regarding women being cursed if they don't sleep with their husbands, I believe, it is because stretching conflicts is greatly detested in Islam. It is part of human nature to argue once in a while, but stretching an argument to the extent of not willing to sleep will only intensify what can be solved and make matters worse.
Forget Islam, wouldn't a person who decides to end quarrels by not being stubborn and 'forgiving and forgetting' be considered a good-hearted man anywhere in the world? This is all that hadith asks for, I believe. -

There you go, you prove my point, muslim women have to be totally dependent on muslim men for food and clothing and she is not even allowed to leave the house without permission:You know, it's very easy to justify your beliefs when you are willing to show ONLY one side of the story. The Prophet said in response to a man who asked him, "What are the rights of our wives over us?":

You failed to address that point.
Really? Well you Muslims always talk about “what was the context of a Koran verse?”, well I suggest you take a lot at the reason behind sura 4.34 (beat your wives):that he not hit her face
(Men are in charge of women…) [4:34]. Said Muqatil: “This verse (Men are in charge of women…) was revealed about Sa‘d ibn al-Rabi‘, who was one of the leaders of the Helpers (nuqaba’), and his wife Habibah bint Zayd ibn Abi Zuhayr, both of whom from the Helpers. It happened Sa‘d hit his wife on the face because she rebelled against him. Then her father went with her to see the Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace. He said to him: ‘I gave him my daughter in marriage and he slapped her’. The Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, said: ‘Let her have retaliation against her husband’. As she was leaving with her father to execute retaliation, the Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, called them and said: ‘Come back; Gabriel has come to me’, and Allah, exalted is He, revealed this verse. The Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, said: ‘We wanted something while Allah wanted something else, and that which Allah wants is good’. Retaliation was then suspended”. Asbab Al-Nuzul by Al-Wahidi http://www.altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=0&tTafsirNo=86&tSoraNo=4 &tAyahNo=34&tDisplay=yes&UserPro file=0&LanguageId=2
So allah wants muslim women to be beaten and has no problem with muslim women being struck in the face.
Also, are you saying that its ok to hit a woman on her body but wrong to hit her in her face? I take it then you approve of domestic violence.
Yeah, lie to her, tell her you love her and that she is beautiful even though you dont mean it.not call her ugly
Here is an islamic cleric teaching muslim children how to lie to their future wives:
Islamic Education-Islamic Cleric Mahmoud El Masri teaches children to lie according to the Prophet Sunnah
And if they don’t do as they are told like little children beat them. Also, The quran says:
{...Wa 'aashiroohunna bi al-ma'roofi fa in karihtumoohunna ta 'asaa an takrahoo shai'an wa yaj'ala Allahu feehi khairan katheeran.}
{...And consort with your wives in a goodly manner for, if you dislike them, it may well be that you dislike something which Allah makes a source of abundant good.} An-Nisaa:19
Excuse me, beating women as punishment is just? How about beating and killing them when they dont pray? Is that justice? When Islam commands such just treatment of women, how in the world can it 'hate' women?
"If a wife abstain from praying, she would be asked to repent. The husband may scourge her to repent, otherwise she must be killed. Ibn Taymiyya http://www.bibletopics.com/biblestudy/96a.htm
I hope other people get to read this and see exactly how dark and twisted some Muslims hearts are.
“I believe” <<< you believing is not knowing the facts. You are just offering your opinion. And about the hadith you posted regarding women being cursed if they don't sleep with their husbands, I believe, it is because stretching conflicts is greatly detested in Islam.
Well, again, this is your personal beliefs, but this is not islamic teachings. In islam, a woman has to give her husband sex anytime he wants it, to not do this can result in homemade corporal punishment. It is part of human nature to argue once in a while, but stretching an argument to the extent of not willing to sleep will only intensify what can be solved and make matters worse.
Again, you are just proving what I am saying, the women better conform to her husbands wishes, or else.Forget Islam, wouldn't a person who decides to end quarrels by not being stubborn and 'forgiving and forgetting' be considered a good-hearted man anywhere in the world? This is all that hadith asks for, I believe.
The women asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?" He said, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Bukhari (Book #6, Hadith #301) http://www.searchtruth.com/searchHad...earch_word=all

that part does not need to be said, it should be understood by any respectful human being, and the fact that it had to be said showed the attitude towards women.
IF THE QURAN HAS SAID THAT WOMAN WILL HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS TO MEN, THEN THE SAUDI ARABIANS WOULD HAVE IMPLEMENTED THIS, THEY WOULD NOT GO AGAINST THE TEACHINGS OF THE QURAN.
so please stop trying to put everything into "context", there are probably 100 if not 1000s of quran scholars in saudi arabia who have studied the works of islam their whole lives, and your saying you know more than them? You are absolutely 100% correct.IF THE QURAN HAS SAID THAT WOMAN WILL HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS TO MEN, THEN THE SAUDI ARABIANS WOULD HAVE IMPLEMENTED THIS, THEY WOULD NOT GO AGAINST THE TEACHINGS OF THE QURAN.
people fail to realize that the saudi's are salafi muslims (wahabists are salafi), salaf means those who went before, i.e. the early muslims. There is not one single thing the wahabists/salafi's and taliban do that is not found in koran and/or the authentic sahih hadiths. If people dont like wahabism then for sure they would not like islam as it is written in the koran and the authentic islamic books.
Well said 4 real.so please stop trying to put everything into "context", there are probably 100 if not 1000s of quran scholars in saudi arabia who have studied the works of islam their whole lives, and your saying you know more than them?
