Re: The Edexcel FP2 (22/06/12 - PM) and FP3 (25/06/12 - PM) Revision Threadhey, off topic but dont you think your insurance isnt much of an insurance? offer looks higher than the firm...(Original post by Moiraclaire)
sketch it out.
say you end up with something like
find the values of x for which
(x+1)(x+2)(x+3)(x+4)>0
That's a happy quartic, with 4 real roots, shaped like a w
so then you can see when drawing it, what set of value of x mean the curve is >0.

make sure IE is your default browser, and then open it, click on tools, compatibility settings, and tick run all websites in compatibility mode.(Original post by Moiraclaire)
AHHH I am retarded.
I cannot open the solutions banks - i downloaded them from the website (mediafire) but cannot open them on any program.
Your video - how did you open it as a website ? Am I being stupid lol.
Thanksssssss
if it still doesnt work, make sure you have math player installed
if you cant find the tools bar in IE, enable it from.... somewhere.
hope that helped -
Re: The Edexcel FP2 (22/06/12 - PM) and FP3 (25/06/12 - PM) Revision ThreadI think C4. According to the Telegraph, 43 Egyptian schools were affected and I doubt that many would be associated with S3 and not to mention it's a very unpopular module.
The specification says you need to be able sketch them. It'll be more helpful if you learn how to derive the graphs rather than memorise them, since they often use unknown constants in the polar equation.(Original post by Tomcrease)
For FP2, are we meant to have memorised how to draw polar graphs from equations?Last edited by snow leopard; 13-06-2012 at 13:50. -

Make sure that you are opening them on internet explorer.
If you use IE9 then you will need to follow the instructions in the video, if its any other version of IE then you don't need to follow the steps in the video.
Update me if it works or not. -
Re: The Edexcel FP2 (22/06/12 - PM) and FP3 (25/06/12 - PM) Revision ThreadIt's the only uni which would let me get a B in Economics. I can get A*AAB in any order whereas my others were more specific and I needed to get an A in Economics. TBH, as long as I didn't get less than a D in Econ 3, I was going to get into UCL, I just had to randomly select an insurance :L(Original post by lubus)
hey, off topic but dont you think your insurance isnt much of an insurance? offer looks higher than the firm...
I already had an A* in Maths and you can be pretty sure how well or not you'll do in subjects like FM in Physics.
There is method in my madness.
I'm such a computing pleb, it tries to open in adobe automatically, how do I stop it doing that :/ Because it's the wrong firl format for adobe.(Original post by raheem94)

Go to the FP2/FP3 folder. Open the contents folder, then 'sb' folder, and then contents folder.
There you will see a bunch of html files, open them in your internet explorer by right clicking and pressing 'open with'. -

I click on that link. I say, download. It starts downloading, I have 4 files named further pure mathematics 2, I said open with internet explorer, a little box called view downloads comes up I click open to the thing I want and nothing happens.
Please could you e-mail it to me or something

Re: The Edexcel FP2 (22/06/12 - PM) and FP3 (25/06/12 - PM) Revision ThreadI see, that's what I was wondering. So, we need to learn that identity.(Original post by Omar1994)
you need to use an identity i think. so like 24r^2 + 2 = (2r+1)^3 - (2r-1)^3. use method of differences there, and at the end take away 2n and divide by 24 to get ∑r^2. -
Re: The Edexcel FP2 (22/06/12 - PM) and FP3 (25/06/12 - PM) Revision Threadhey, the only chapter im really stuck on is vectors.. do you know any good resources so i can get better? or any particularly difficult questions? thanks(Original post by Dreamweaver)
Lol! *moves to Egypt* -
Re: The Edexcel FP2 (22/06/12 - PM) and FP3 (25/06/12 - PM) Revision ThreadFormulae booklet.(Original post by number23)
guys, in fp3 when youre asked to integrate the reciprocal of a quadratic, do you have to do it all from first principles or can you just apply the results in the formulae booklet? -
Re: The Edexcel FP2 (22/06/12 - PM) and FP3 (25/06/12 - PM) Revision Thread
On 2009 Q6B you're asked to sketch the region |z|<3 given that its transformed by w. The correct answer shows the region outside the circle not inside. How do they get that answer quickly (its only a 2 mark question) without redoing the algebra from part A with the inequality?

Re: The Edexcel FP2 (22/06/12 - PM) and FP3 (25/06/12 - PM) Revision ThreadAs far as I know, there are only Solomon papers for the old FP specification. You'd have to pick out the right questions for the new spec.(Original post by number23)
What are the most difficult solomon papers for fp2 and 3? -
Re: The Edexcel FP2 (22/06/12 - PM) and FP3 (25/06/12 - PM) Revision Threadoh really :/ do you know what other difficult papers i could do?(Original post by tiny hobbit)

Re: The Edexcel FP2 (22/06/12 - PM) and FP3 (25/06/12 - PM) Revision Threadwhat i found is a hardcore few hours of going through all the revision exercise questions does it for me! watched the all 5 films of fast and furious learning fp3(Original post by number23)
how is everyone revising? ive done the old and new spec questions, has anyone got any more?
