    Applying for a job, references.
I'm applying for my first job, and as I've never been employed before I need to list two references. However, I can only really find one possible person. I can use my current Secondary School tutor but other than that there really isn't anyone. There are no family friends that know me well enough to use. Is it okay just to use to one, or would that really damage my chances?

I used my Sociology tutor and my form tutor. Don't you have anyone else from school you can use? Tutors, teachers,or even a headteacher?

Also, according to a website I came across-

"You can get friends, religious leader and former teachers as character references. Employers usually frown on character references from close family members.

If your character reference is from an official who knows you, a letter of reference is sometimes handy. Ask the person for such as letter. Sometimes the person will tell you to write a letter, saying that you have good character or are an outstanding member of the community, and then the person will sign it."

So..I hope this helps somehow I don't think just using one will hurt, but it is always best to have 2,to be on the safe side.

You need two, just think harder. There must be more than one teacher from school that knew you. The Headteacher will provide a reference if you only did one A level.
