    help, stuck with university choices!
I keeping on having a few discussions with my parents about university choices and I keep on getting annoyed. I thinking about doing history and politics and at the minute, I'm thinking about Leeds and Reading plus Royal Holloway. I'm averaging at around an A/B in my grades. The problem is my parents keeping on urging me to look at lower universities which offer CCC as I probably won't get As. However, I'm quite ambitious and am prepared to get the grades that I want to get where I want. But I'm just stuck, should I listen to my parents and look at lower places and focus on getting lower grades as they believe that's what I'm going to get or continue to work hard for the grades that I want for a place that I want to go? Really sorry about the long post but I'm just really stuck about what I do will be for my parents and not for me.

of course you should keeping working hard and aiming for the best grades, im guessing your at AS atm, which means you dont know where you stand til you have your results. once you have them then you can think seriously of which places it is realistic to aim for

Presumably most of, if not all, of your AS exams are in the summer? Just work hard for those, and get the best grades you can, as it is you're AS grades that determine what your A2 prediction's will be, and thus what level of university you should aim for, at which time if you have high predictions, you can justify to your parents aiming higher.

for now, tell you're parents that you believe you can achieve the grades to go somewhere higher, but at the same time, acknowledge their advice and look at a few options should the worse happen in the summer.

Put unis which offer As and B as your firm, and then Bs and C as insurance?
