Re: Proposition For Creation of Shanghai Cooperation OrganisationYes - it can noticed that on many of the posts on the main forum are at a face-value - that is to say, people may comment and agree/disagree but not get into heavy discussion. Of course, blocs such as the AL and BP have given new in-depth, context relative discussion which has seen an increase in debate. Not that the main forum is no good though, you do get a lot of discussions going. And though it may seem pointless to have two discussions on the same topic at once, it does involve the members who it is focused upon more.(Original post by sandys1000)
If a story arises concerning, say, Russia, would you envision it being discussed in both the main forum and the SCO simultaneously? -
Re: Proposition For Creation of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation
Switzerland supports this proposal indefinitely. We hope that relations with not only Switzerland will become more friendly as a result of this but with the other organisations such as The Arab League and The Baltic Partnership for example.

Belarus supports this proposal as it will facilitate a close working partnership with our closest ally, Russia.
The US thanks the support from both Belarus and Switzerland.(Original post by PierceBrosnan)

Re: Proposition For Creation of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation
Bangladesh will accept this proposal, we want to create a closer relationship with some of our current allies and trading partners as well as creating new relationships with countries we have not had any sort of formal diplomatic communication with, yet.

Re: Proposition For Creation of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation
The Republic of Korea welcomes parts of this innovative idea. We would very much like to be part of an organisation that represents further political cooperation in a potentially very volatile region. However we would be extremely cautious about the proposal for further economic unity. Therefore plans need to develop further to gain our full support.

Re: Proposition For Creation of Shanghai Cooperation OrganisationOOC: So any thoughts on where this is going? I know Birchington proposed the Association of Southeast Asian Nations but it didn't include many Oceanic/Australasian nations or some of the ones in this one.

Re: Proposition For Creation of Shanghai Cooperation OrganisationIf we can somehow merge this idea and ASEAN into one, large regional bloc, that would be the best outcome and maximise the number of countries that can participate.

That looks like a plan. I like the sound of a Cross-Asian Partnership.
OOC: I'll get round to putting something together about this later.(Original post by DebatingGreg)

Re: Proposition For Creation of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation[ooc]The way I see it, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation is a revitalisation of the ancient trade routes (silk route). How on earth you've missed out Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran purposefully is beyond me. Interesting times ahead for the SCO, which will include major international players.[/ooc](Original post by DebatingGreg)
