Re: Israel to thank fly-in acticists in letter
Completely agree with their point, very few people believe Israel behaves perfectly when dealing with the Palestine issue and there is a lot of room for improvement but for people to still be focusing on them while other countries in the region are openly massacring their own people? It's just plain wrong. Israel has by far the best human rights in the region, it contributes massively to the world and is a thriving country.
Since 2000 there have been around 6400 Palestinian civilians killed and around 500 Israeli civilians killed according to B'Tselem (before anyone decides to point out they are Jewish run so must support Israel they are a trusted source used by the UN that has been criticized in the past for bias against the Israeli government) http://www.btselem.org/statistics
By comparison in Syria since March the 15th of 2011 (the beginning of the crackdown on the uprising) around 8000 Syrians have been killed (possibly more now), some estimates are even higher than that however the UN says 8000 and they are the most reliable source of information about these issues

And the activists choose to protest against Israel? Can't work out if it's simply brainwashing, an indictment of their countries education system or simply a show of how far their bravery extends when the prospect of protesting in a country that has real dangers arises.Last edited by Darth Stewie; 14-04-2012 at 23:39. -

Re: Israel to thank fly-in acticists in letterAlthough I think Israel has the moral right to deport them, it would probably do better to let them hold their protest, to really drive the irony home.(Original post by Jewpost)
Instead, “you chose to protest against Israel, the Middle East’s sole democracy, where women are equal, the press criticizes the government, human rights organizations can operate freely, religious freedom is protected for all and minorities do not live in fear.”
The letter concludes with a suggestion that the activists first solve “the real problems of the region” and then “come back and share with us your experience.”
In an indication that Israel will not let the protesters in but will instead deport them back to their countries of origin, the letter ends with the line: “Have a nice flight.” -
Re: Israel to thank fly-in acticists in letterAccording to the Economic Intelligence Unit Palestinians have more freedom and liberties than Syrians, Jordanians, Iranians and Egyptians. In fact the only three areas in that region that have more freedoms are Turkey, Lebanon and Israel so no, Israel is not lagging behind when it comes to the human rights of Palestinians, are they perfect? heeell no but they are a hell of a lot better than what the Palestinians would get in the surrounding countries.(Original post by Kiss)
Except when it comes to Palestinians. -

Re: Israel to thank fly-in acticists in letterStill doesn't justify what they've done/continue to do, especially on their policy of what the regard Palestinians as. But at times I can't help but question myself, as someone who tries to go for a culturally relative view point, why I'm so against Israel.(Original post by Darth Stewie)

Re: Israel to thank fly-in acticists in letter
Good for Israel. It's mind-numbing how people can focus on Israel, calling them evil and murderers, when atrocities above and beyond what Israel commits are happening in neighbouring countries. You even see this in university. Loads of 'Israel is evil' protests, never one protesting the Syrian Regime, or the Iranian Regime, or the Saudi Regime.

Re: Israel to thank fly-in acticists in letterWhat a load of crap. Palestinians have been persecuted in their own land ever since the bloody Zionists entered. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been killed, their homes demolished, their families falsely imprisoned. Tell me, how many international laws has Israel broken since it's conception?! Far too many, I say.(Original post by Darth Stewie)

When (NOT if) the Palestinians get their land back, they should boot out every single Israeli - man, woman and child. Although ideally the Israelis should be given a taste of their own medicine by having the Palestinians persecute and torture them for 60 years. See how they like it.
Pity though, Muslims and Jews used to live in harmony for millenia before this Zionist attrocity began... -

Re: Israel to thank fly-in acticists in letterHonestly its disgusting idiots rep you, I look forward to your reply if you can be bothered, with the source stating that 100,000s of Palestinians have been killed.(Original post by ChampEon)

You want Israelis killed and tortured and people are repping you, this forum has officially gone insane. I can have a guess as to who supports your views.
I'd hope Britain would do the same if there where thousand of blood thirsty Muslims next door. Stop spreading lies. -
Re: Israel to thank fly-in acticists in letterAs Akinfenwa said do you have a source for this? Anything remotely reputable?(Original post by ChampEon)

Never said Israel is not responsible for some highly questionable acts, you really going to sit there and paint every Palestinian as an innocent victim in this conflict? Both sides have done stupid things but there is not a shred of evidence Israel have ever purposely targeted children or civilians, Israeli doctors constantly provide medical care to Palestinians which is denied by their own authority and under Israeli rule Palestinians have a level of freedom which is completely alien in the vast majority of that region of the world. Palestine is not some 3rd world crap hole, GDP growth is expected to reach 10 percent by the end of 2012, the economy of Palestine is constantly growing, they export numerous products ranging from mobile phone parts to vegetable based oils and their life expectancy is higher than Turkeys. Does this really sound like a place that has had its population persecuted and oppressed for 60 years? The Palestinian conflict is real and at times it gets nasty but it does not represent Palestine as a whole which for that part of the world is incredibly well off.
Also love the rep your getting for suggesting every Israeli man, women and child is persecuted and tortured for 60 years. They are clearly anti-Zionist and nothing else
