Re: religion and hateI guess conflicting views is the main thing... Learning to express your points about your beliefs calmly and sensibly is something that sadly some people in various groups fail to be able to do. That is where the supposed hatred comes from.

Re: religion and hateStandard group mentality, Humans are violent, aggressive and sadistic by nature. Religion gives people a perfect way to distinguish the are and are nots thus allowing them to justify actions against them.
It's like football hooliganism on a larger scale, people join a firm so they can basically fight and satisfy their primal needs while building a sense of belonging and importance. -

Re: religion and hatepeople who are insecure in their beliefs do this, they don't like the fact that other people who have different beliefs to them in case they may actually be right so they try and stop this

Re: religion and hateWorshippers of faiths that are monotheistic in nature are subconsciously threatened by those of us who have a religion that is either polytheistic or atheistic in nature. I feel the same way about people harshing my mellow about Buddhism. As a side note, I want to add that I joined the site just to post on this thread. Approx. 20 mins ago. Haha..
