What's wrong with some of you people? According to several of the above posters, doing drugs automatically makes you "difficult". I can see no logic in that whatsoever.
I'm hella laid back, have never really given my parents any serious grief (no more than the average kids gives their parents, anyway), yet I smoke cannabis, and I used to be a heavy drinker.
It should also be noted that I didn't start drinking heavily until I was 19, and I didn't start smoking until I could afford it (I was 17, for those interested. Back then the age for buying baccy was 16.).
In short, if you can afford recreational activities involving drug use, and you use them responsibly... where in that makes you "difficult"? -

It demonstrates rebellion and you're a bit troubled.
(Concerning illegal drugs) No, it demonstrates that you're open-minded enough to ignore the baseless propaganda that the government perpetuates about various drugs, and that you'd like to expand your mind by using said substances.
(Concerning alcohol) I'm sure that millions of drinkers all over the UK will disagree with you there. -
Re: Do you consider yourself a 'difficult child'?
I might be difficult, not in the typical ways but because I tend to be quite quiet and keep everything to myself i.e difficult to communicate with. I tend to be quite isolated and spend most of my time in my room and never talk to them really..
I was also one of the most accident prone children most people had ever seen, I guess I was difficult on the side of having to constantly buy plasters..
my sister is difficult (to me at least), she always demands to have what she wants and is terrible if we don't do what she wants when she's home from university so we call her "Princess Ruth" because she's a complete pain. -
Re: Do you consider yourself a 'difficult child'?
yeah i was a nightmare for my Mum...i couldnt eat my food normally i needed the old trick with spoon being the airoplane and my mouth the airport, so the plane needed to land 15-20 times in order to eat my food. I couldnt sleeo without the Mr men stories and a nursery rhyme in the end. I liked to bite my mum's hand when she was holfing me to go for a walk to the park and i was running away from her like a f#%&ing headless chicken. Ahh good old days

Re: Do you consider yourself a 'difficult child'?
I got myself lost at Changi International Airport. My parents spent two hours looking for me.
They found me chatting with some Singapore Airlines air hostesses. The air hostesses kept remarking how long my eyelashes were. I was eight.
Another time, I broke all the eggs on a shelf in the grocery store.... I mean all.
So yes, I was a difficult child.
God bless my parents for not suffocating me to death.... I don't know how they put up with it.Last edited by Ari Ben Canaan; 15-04-2012 at 14:01. -
Re: Do you consider yourself a 'difficult child'?I was.(Original post by Anonymous)
So far, everyone seems to be doing ok; none put on a tantrum, rage or that sort of stuff when you were a child or during your teen years? -

I is bare jealous, man.
Alcohol is also an evil that must be discouraged. -
Re: Do you consider yourself a 'difficult child'?
As a child, I became independent very young, and kept myself to myself, so I wasn't difficult in the screaming tantrum sense.
Now, I'm louder and more opinionated, but sensible and we rarely argue, so I don't really think I've been a difficult child. -
Re: Do you consider yourself a 'difficult child'?Congratulations, you've just perfectly portrayed the kind of stigmatism that has prevented drugs from being legalised.(Original post by Iron Lady)
You're so cool for trying drugs!

I'm not trying to "look cool" for taking drugs. Anyone who takes drugs so that they can "look cool" is a dick. I take drugs because I can appreciate the spiritual and mental effects they have on me.
LSD and cannabis are amongst many drugs that are less harmful than alcohol, and as such they should be legalised. Why have a dangerous drug that's legal but make less harmful drugs illegal?
I don't drink any more for personal reasons, though I don't look down on people who do drink, nor do I condemn alcohol as a whole (I do, however, condemn the government for being idiots and not making illegal drugs legal so that they can be regulated and taxed, which boosts the economy and takes away any nasty additives to drugs that unscrupulous dealers will add to them). It's perfectly possible, as it is with other drugs, to be responsible when drinking.
If you're an irresponsible drinker then the problems lies with you, not with the drug (and I'm saying this as someone who used to be a borderline alcoholic and got into some very stupid situations whilst drunk. Naturally, I blame myself). -

Weed is hardly a 'hard' drug... everyone knows it's really not that bad for you. Proper drugs are heroin, cocaine, morphine etc, which you don't do. I'm pretty sure those who mention drugs are referring to going to clubs and snorting some ice or something - that would be the 'difficult child' they're thinking of when they refer to drugs.
No such thing as using hard drugs responsibly.Last edited by Aussie-Pom; 15-04-2012 at 14:19. -
Re: Do you consider yourself a 'difficult child'?Irish parents.(Original post by Iron Lady)
If you're from London, why do you refer to your mother as "Mam"? -

Re: Do you consider yourself a 'difficult child'?You can use any drug recreationally and responsibly; just because certain drugs have reputations of being killers and whatnot, I'm going to remind you that it's the user who should be held accountable for their actions, not the drug.(Original post by Aussie-Pom)

I know several people who snort cocaine on a regular basis. They have jobs, they don't steal stuff to trade for coke, they don't carry guns around with them, nor do they have any outwardly noticeable personality changes as a result of taking the drug.
Also, you're talking mainstream drugs. What about DMT, or taking DXM to the point of being on the 4th Plateau? I'd say the effects from that are harder than nodding off after shooting up with heroin, yet I'd still willingly take them on occasion.
I have no doubts that people who take drugs to the point of being dependant on them can be difficult on occasion, but don't you ****ing dare lob us recreational users all in the same boat with the crackheads and junkies. That's just like saying "drugs are bad" because it implies that cannabis and crack are equals, and you have to be a real idiot to believe in that. -
Re: Do you consider yourself a 'difficult child'?
Yes, somewhat. Especially for my mom's standards. I still am considered difficult by her.
When I was a kid, they say I was a sweetheart, but then I grew up and she says I started disrespecting her and stuff.. I also started doing drugs (well weed only) and she found out about it. I also smoke and drink and lie a lot without any apparent reason. It's just because I don't want her or any of my relatives in my life. Sex is also considered a bad thing for them, so when they found out I was not a virgin, it was a great deal. I just don't get along with my family, because they are way too nosy and don't respect my privacy. -
Re: Do you consider yourself a 'difficult child'?Stop editing your post(Original post by Aussie-Pom)

I've never been drunk*, stoned or gotten pregnant.
*I'm not saying you're a difficult child if you have.(Original post by CJAW)
I've never been difficult in terms of the 'going out and drinking, smoking' type. -
Re: Do you consider yourself a 'difficult child'?Then why did s/he bother bringing it up in the first place?(Original post by Aussie-Pom)
sorry lol
but anyway, Pi! even said "I'm not saying you're a difficult child if you have."

I was also one of the most accident prone children most people had ever seen, I guess I was difficult on the side of having to constantly buy plasters..
