Something I noticed, it said on my certificate of acceptance that classes start September 18, but the dates that the accomodations were for started that we move in at the 15th? What about freshers week????

i think that the first week (freshers) is technically when classes start, but it'll just be induction stuff with time for other things like finding out about societies etc, then the week after proper classes will begin? not sure though

How soon do you think they will give us our accommodation offer? It said if your offer in unconditional they will get back to you ASAP.

for Stirling 2 of my friends got offers within 3 days:biggrin:

it apparantly coincides with freshers week but the first week of classes is apparantly a skive and the lectures are pretty much "my name is dr... you're studying law for the next 4 years"

Wow!!! I hope Aberdeen are this quick!

Is anyone else slightly worried about the fact that they didn't ask anything about your personality etc? Most universities try and put people together who are similar

I better not be with people who don't go out :s-smilie: but sure everyone's going to uni to have a good time so it'll be fine

Yeah same! I'm worried I end up with people who are always heads burried in books and don't really want to go out socialising. Surely I'm going to make one friend though?

With the people in the year above me in school, one guy got stuck with a whole flat of internationals. Then this girl was in a flat with another girl she never saw for the whole year pretty much. Also a girl from my year who went to uni last year was really weird and she ended up moving out of halls because she couldn't study and couldn't get to sleep at 10 for the parties haha! She was a strange kid.

I'm in your boat and i'm not worried at all! We're among the first people to apply and its so unlikely you will get your 4th/5th choice or even your 3rd! It'll be fine

They didn't go to Aberdeen ha!

10 is really early but she was like a child. She also used to go to the warden people and complain that their parties were disturbing her! haha

Firmed my unconditional for Philosophy and Psychology in January... but tbh I already kind of regret the choice. I mean sure, Aberdeen is alright and seems pretty friendly, but I think studying something not-so-vocational at a mediocre uni is kinda silly. So I'm definitely considering switching to somewhere else in Scotland early on.

When you arrive you can choose to study whatever you like you know. You don't have to study what your offer is for (unless they have changed it now). The only restriction is that a couple courses have requirements (maths and physics are the only ones I know of).

In the first week you will probably have to meet your adviser for 10 minutes and have one or two introductory lectures (or none) depending on what you study.
I really hope I'm with people who wanna go out :s-smilie: Don't think I'd manage if everyone around me was staying in all the time.

I'm thinking of Hillhead (Wavell House); what does everyone else think? Also considering South House...and the question of catered vs. uncatered is STILL bugging me
