    Primary Education/London Road Campus
    Hellooooooo (:
    Just wondering whether there are any other Primary Ed firmers/insurance-ers lurking around, for any specialism. Or anyone else whose course is on the London Road campus.

    Hi there

    I'll be doing Secondary English on the London Road Campus as of September. Have you made any decisions about accommodation? I'm trying to decide whether to live in halls or private rent - would like to be around other students as I'll be new to the area but was worried about being with freshers again!

    Apparently there are some proper real life grown ups around too (: I'll be a fresher so I'm definitely considering accommodation, even though my poor student loan won't cover it. I love the look of the education department though (:

    Ah sorry, I've been so caught up with PGCE stresses that I completely forgot about everyone starting degrees! I'm just about to graduate so feeling very jealous of freshers (seeing everyone partying would just remind me how much of a 'proper grownup' I now have to be!)

    I hope you manage to squeeze your student loan and find some nice accommodation

    English. Because lit is awesome. Or will be, post exams. What're you doing?

    Except for interview, you're the first primary ed person I've found. It's weird, there's like nobody.

    Mhmmmm. At the interview, the art students were intimidating with their giant folders. I just had a handful of AS lit notes... (:
    I forgot the offer had gone up until the offer came through though... ):

    Yer same I was a little disapointed to see that, although i kinda assumed they would be higher as there were so many people interested
    On my interveiw they didnt tell any of the art students to bring in any portfolio in so we were all pretty intimidated by everyone else who actually had something to talk about in there interveiw, especially english people there were loads of them and they all seemed to stick together, almost had a gang vibe going :P

    Haha, English people are just more friendly. I did develop book envy a little bit, but Fantastic Mr Fox is genius so it was okay.
    Whereabouts are you from? Almost everyone I met there was from Kent/London/Essex. Made my accent sound brilliant.

    Bristol. Ooo arr ooo arrrrr. Which book did you use?
    I'm so scared I'm not going to get in. My friends shouted at me for complaining about 280 points because they need 3 As (:

    We weren't asked to bring a book as our interview day was a complete muck up, no one had brought anything, all they told us was to prepare for and interview and a discussion, yer the whole day was wrong, oh well I still got an offer :P
    Yer I'm starting to stress about that I'm only predicted 3 Cs but I know I can do better, its just a matter of doing some revision :P I don't think its very fair that my friend who has applied for biochemical science only needs 3 Ds so I safely complain about 280 in front of her :P that's the other trouble they said they are only taking points from 3 alevels, yet if they took into account my AS grade I would have no worries!
    Do you think your Gunna get the grades?

    I wish it was last year grades! I'm taking 11 exams in the summer to try and find marks somewhere. I was aiming for sort of BCC so I either need to push maths to a B or English lit to an A ): Effortttt. At least my AS lang doesn't matter anymore. I bet it's the only thing I pass... (;
    Our interview day went pretty well then >.> Did you have a really early one? Ours was lovely? Also, were there many men in your interviews because we had 2 out of like 25 and they were both music specialists (:

    I think ours was late October time, but apparently the head of education had been really ill or something then it took them ages to reply with an offer, I don't know if you had the same problem I think I was waiting a good 2/3 months for a reply! We had one guy he was doing english bit he seemed to get on well with the rest of the girls so wasn't too awful
    Wow! 11 exams! That's loads blimey and I'm panicking about 3! Are they lots of retakes or just the course split up into different parts?

    Retakes! Well, 4 are first time final modules. And then 4 maths retakes, 2 politics retakes and 1 for lit. I love college! (;
    My interview was in February and everything was fairly smooth. Everyone else was bloody amazing through so I was scared. But I heard after about 3 weeks. I posted them my reference before easter which was part of the conditions of my offer but I haven't heard anything yet. Going to chase them up at some point. Hopefully I haven't fallen at the first hurdle!
    Where else did you apply? (:

    I posted mine end of march and I think it took them 3 weeks to reply by email they were probably all prepared for yours after mine then :P I kinda regret not retaking some of my modules but at least it gives me a chance to focus on these now your doing some pretty intense subjects thou!

    Haha, it'll be fine. Theoretically. It's been a month. I think I probably should phone just in case. I probably sent it to the wrong place, or it's not enough or something...
    And I wish I didn't take this many modules, but I don't know how else I'd get in. Insurance offer's 240 though, so I should be able to get in to a uni. Reading's definitely the dream though >.> I love college...

    Yer I loved reading hope I get in! My insurance is 260 so not much room to fail my other exams :P yer I wouldn't worry about it the email was slightly pointless and oddly phrased so wait anoutger week or two and phone, I just sent mine to the admissions office was your interview at the old campus or the London road one? Mine was at the old one so I haven't actually seen the new one just wondering if it looked nice.

    I'm sure it'll be fine...
    Oh, mine was at London Road. It's such a beautiful campus (as it should be if it's where everyone graduates) (: I was sort of annoyed that there's no accommodation, but I'm sure it'll be fine. It's not that far away really anyway. Any ideas where you want to live? I looked at the private one, but you don't get your deposit back if you don't get in which would be rubbish. Probably more for PGCEs.
