    Fired clay? All bricks are fired clay...

    For these my guess would be:

    -Pretty low quality standard dimension metric brick (230 × 110 × 76mm with 10mm mortar gap)
    -higher iron content
    -machine thrown, soft mud moulded.
    -not sure on kiln type, probably mass produced but too inconsistent for a tunnel kiln unless there's been tinting involved - so I'll settle on a Chamber Kiln.

    all in a badly laid english garden wall bond, bucket handle (possibly flush) struck... lovely.

    But since I come from Glasgow I'd probably class them as the un-throwable kind.

    Looks like 'council brick' imo. The stuff coucils use to make stuff for other people to use... Council office extensions are made of nicer brick for some mysterious reason.

    Don't suppose you could analyse a few more walls for me if I post the images? this is for a tutorial btw...
