Fired clay? All bricks are fired clay...
For these my guess would be:
-Pretty low quality standard dimension metric brick (230 × 110 × 76mm with 10mm mortar gap)
-higher iron content
-machine thrown, soft mud moulded.
-not sure on kiln type, probably mass produced but too inconsistent for a tunnel kiln unless there's been tinting involved - so I'll settle on a Chamber Kiln.
all in a badly laid english garden wall bond, bucket handle (possibly flush) struck... lovely. -
