    Effects of simple sentences
I'm writting my commentary, and I'm goin to mention how simple sentences add to the horror... the examples I'm going to use are "it's my kind of place", "she was undeniably dead" and "my task was complete". What impact do they have, and how have they conveyed the horror genre?

They don't really have much impact on their own; it largely depends on what goes before them. If they come after a string of longer, complex and/or compound sentences, they can be an effective stylistic device, often emphasising the simplicity of the proposition put forward in the simple sentence...or something like that.

The simplicity of their presentation leaves no ambiguity nor gamut to their meaning - they are total, intense and final, almost cruel in their pronunciation of simplicity.
