    the pill
    hey
i want to go on the pill, purely for reasons it may make my skin better, regulate my period and make my boobs grow!
but one catch - i'm not "sexually active" at the moment - will my doctor still be able to allow me to go on the pill?

If you say your period is irregular they will suggest it. I went on purely for that.

Yes I got the pill (Dianette) just for my acne. It's worked brilliantly for me all my spots have gone just a few whiteheads like normal teenagers One of my doctors said no at first, due to my age, but I changed to another doctor who was fine with it

Yes. Im on Cerazette because of my horrible periods. Go and talk to them- mine gave me a three month prescription and then told me come back and see her to see how things were going etc.

    I haven't had a period for 2 months

You haven't had one? Have you not been taking your break? I don't think it's good for you to not do.

I was told that I could take my pills back-to-back. It's safe, more and more doctors are telling you now that you don't need to take a break but can take three packets in a row.

Personally I preferred to take the break.

    hi,
my doc put me on yasmin pill due to my bad skin and it has worked very well for me.

However, i had spent years trying to solve it without drugs with various topical creams etc.

Pills can have quite strong side effects also - although in general it sits well with me, im quite sure it has made me more emotional than usual.

On the subject of running packs together, I once did this for several months (I was away travelling - gap year) and my doc told me this was fine. However, after about 3/4 months i had a very heavy, horrible period !! I fabsolutely knocked me for six and lasted about 3 weeks. I went 2 see my doctor and he said it was just because the pill wasnt stong enough to repress hormones and just to tough it out basically! I won't be running packs together anymore....

You don't have breaks on Cerazette. Its one with only one hormone in

OP, go and speak to your GP. They should prescribe it if your periods are horrible!

Hey I was on it for the first two reasons stated and it worked! If you go to the doctor and explain then they should allow you to go on the pill, I think they checked my bloody pressure first but yeah

You don't have to be sexually active to go on the pill. Many people take it for the reasons you have said. If it was only a skin issue they might have suggested other alternatives, but as you also say that your period is irregular, the contraceptive pill can help with that. Visit the doctor and see what they suggest, but mention that you're interested in going on the pill.

All my doctor asked is whether I'd had unprotected sex recently and if there was any chance I could be pregnant. Answering No to both of those doesn't actually say if you are sexually active at the time.
