Do unis know your order of preference?
I was looking at Newcastle uni and amoung the list of things a prostective student must adhere to it mentioned 'Choice of Newcastle'. So what does this mean? The fact that you applied (surely this is a pretty pointless criterion) or if whether Newcastle is your first choice?

Re: Do unis know your order of preference?Universities you apply to don't know what other universities you have applied to, but even if they could see, they would have no idea of your preference - after all, they can't read your mind.(Original post by EmmaOB)

Re: Do unis know your order of preference?
Just to clear up some confusion for you, on your application you don't put an order of preference. You just apply to upto 5, then when you have all of your decisions back, you choose a first choice and a second choice, at which point they can see. And the three choices you didn't put as either first or second no longer look at your application, as you have declined your offer from them.
At this stage, it doesn't matter what they think of your order of preference. You have your offer so if you get the grades in your offer criteria then you're going there.Last edited by rachaelizabeth; 16-04-2012 at 00:55.
