Anyone starting SK123 'Understanding Cancers' next month?
I know the module will have its own forum open soon but just wondered if there was anyone else on here due to start next month?
Got all my materials in the post this morning, can't believe how big the book is for a 15 credit module! Looking forward to starting though

Hi Hannah
Will be starting it in May too. Haven't received the book yet as Yodel doesn't seem to be able to deliver it to the right place
I will be studying towards Health Sciences degree and I'm looking forward to this module very much.
I couldn't find any other forum for this module so I'm so glad that I found you here

Hi Karolina!
Where are you studying from then? Is this your first module for your degree? I'm doing it in preparation for a Radiotherapy degree starting in September
I'm really looking forward to it too, the online section will be open from Saturday I think so we should find more people then.

Re: Anyone starting SK123 'Understanding Cancers' next month?
Hi Hannah
I live in Surrey and will be studying this module alongside DSE141 Discovering psychology, S187 Elements of forensic science, and S171 Empire of the microbes. I'm only starting here. I'm excited but nervous at the same time. I've been working as a medical secretary (gynae) and healthcare assistant for some time now and started to take more interest in medicine. My background in science is not sufficient for medicine so decided to do this degree and perhaps as soon as I finish it to apply for medicine as a graduate. That's the plan at least :-) I can't wait when the website opens, I still have no books so would love to at least have a quick look at the online section once it opens. -

Hi
I've just applied for this course, starting in Jan 2013. Hoping to get on the PGDip Radiotherapy & Oncology at Hallam in Sep 2013!
I was wondering on your thoughts of the course so far?
I got my first degree with the OU (BSc Psy). I have so much love for the OU! -
Hi! I'm really enjoying it so far, it's deffo a good bet for a Radiotherapy degree, I'm starting at BCU this year and finding its giving me a really good baseline, and obviously looks good on your application! It's a fairly hefty text book which I'm sure will come in handy at uni. For £250 it's well worth it for your career aspirations(Original post by RabidKitten)

Re: Anyone starting SK123 'Understanding Cancers' next month?I am considering signing up to do this course, but what is the course length? on the site it says see description, which I read, but still couldn't see an end date, any ideas anyone?
I've never done distance learning, but am registered to start Biological Psychology: an exploration of the brain in Feb. -

it was Feb - Oct. It was my first experience with distance learning too but I found the OU very helpful and easily navigated. Good luck with your psychology course!
