mature student & career choice, your views please
Hi All,
First post on here, so please bear with me..to cut the story short, I am British (was not born in UK though), have lived here for nearly 10 years..through difficult circumstances I never studied in UK (already have a diploma in Sociology from non-UK uni)..but now have a dilemma.. I enjoy beauty (high end, e.g. top spas etc), was thinking of doing a CIBTAC/CIDESCO in beauty (a swiss based qualification which is a creme de la creme in the industry)this would cost me roughly 6k, I currently work part-time trying to make the right choice..the dilemma I have in question is decision between your heart/and your brain..I am also looking at studying PITMAN (PA Diploma) course which would settle me around 3.5k and would guarantee, at least an interview for a PA position in today's market..both jobs attract me for various reasons, the difficulty lies in long-term view..pa job pays a lot better, I would enjoy the social part of working in the office as I feel I miss it.. the beauty qualification in return will give me all the skills to secure the job in a top-end spa, however I cannot see myself working at the spa long-term, I was considering this qualification mainly in order to work for myself..taking my age into account I've always wanted to have skills which would earn me a decent income for when I am ready to have a child (and I am nearly there), however I am in between the choices..brain says do the PITMAN, get an office job (CV, money etc) and if at later stage you wanted to continue with beauty then why not.. but I keep coming across the posts where people are bored with their 'office' jobs..or is it more about how we look/see things than what are they actually are? your views on this would be much appreciated..p.s. I am currently working for a luxury brand retailer part-time.. -

Hi Vertumnas
I know your post was submitted along time ago, however I just see how it went and what you decided to do?
I am looking at doing a Pitmans PA diploma and was wondering if you have any advise at all.
Is it worth the money?
Any advise would be great
