Re: Is the iPod Touch any good?
I've found the browsing to be quite slick, and that's on the original iPod Touch several years ago. The only thing that detracts from it is that you can't get 3G on them, which is why a lot of people, including me, lean towards smart phones, Android or iPhone. If you have regular access to wifi then it's perfect. The new ones come with cameras which easily make it wonderful media devices, allowing it to use Facetime as well as, as far as I know, skype. I believe there is an app which virtually turns it into a phone as long as it has a wifi connection. The smooth functionality of the iOS adds to the experience. It works as an effective games console. It's cheaper than most decent smart phones. My flatmate at uni cracked the screen extremely badly and yet it still works smoothly with no obscured areas on the screen.
You simply can't go wrong with an iPod Touch
Edit: However, if it is simply and purely music you will use it for, I suggest the iPod classic which can generally hold around 160gb for less than the price of a 32gb iPod Touch.Last edited by Snagprophet; 16-04-2012 at 20:53. -
Re: Is the iPod Touch any good?
I think it's a fantastic gadget, you can listen to music (great as an MP3) and do web browsing etc. with ease. Support for them is now amazing (because obviously they use the same OS as the iPhone), and it's one of the few things I've bought in years that I continue to use every day. But consider the 32 or even 64gb version if you listen to a lot of music. the 8gb one ends up being 6.8ish after you've set it all up. But yeah, I'd recommend!

Re: Is the iPod Touch any good?He could just buy something for £350 with the credit and sell it on amazon for £330 then buy an android beast.(Original post by Gofre)
I don't think he'll be able to get a high end android phone from a bookshop =P -
Re: Is the iPod Touch any good?
I absolutely detest Apple but even i have to say that the Ipod touch (4th gen) is fantastic. You honestly won't regret buying it - i haven't got a complaint with it. My brother has one but i snatch it most of the time =) However, if you ONLY want the device for music, then it's probably not worth it, other ipods will provide you with better sound quality and more storage space.

Re: Is the iPod Touch any good?Ah I was expecting some a bit more of a humorous app name(Original post by Origami Bullets)
Either iP Free, or there's a paid version (geared more towards people who are trying to get pregnant, I think, than those of us who see their period as a good thing, because it means we're not pregnant). I think the paid version is called iPeriod though
, never mind.

Re: Is the iPod Touch any good?Hold on - you've got a Galaxy Ace and you're buying an iPod Touch?! NOO! Don't do it! Galaxy Ace is practically an iTouch you'd be wasting your money.. buy an iTouch and sell it on Amazon to buy something more useful than pointless second gadget.(Original post by Lil2wkd)

Re: Is the iPod Touch any good?If I was you I would buy the most valuable item, which I could sell for the most amount of money. Sell it buy a cheap mp3 player. And keep the rest of the money for something useful.(Original post by Lil2wkd)

Re: Is the iPod Touch any good?
Im not a Apple person im more Android, but i got a iPod Touch for portable music, video apps and internet browsing when at uni wifi hotspot or else where. If you want a dedicated music player your better off getting something a allot cheaper.
But if you want Apps, Web browsing and Music then its worth the money, I had the 3rd gen and upgraded to the 4th Gen for the camera which i use for Skype works brilliantly, quality isnt the best but on a 3.5 inch screen its decent for video chat.
I have a Android Phone (Xperia mini pro) to be honest using Whatsapp, texting, calling, Internet browsing when im on the bus, my battery is gone by the end of the day, But my ipod lasts for a few days straight which is perfect cause i want to listen to music most of the time, play a few games, so i dont have to worry about battery life. Thats why i have 2 devices with mee. -
