    Recommendations please :)
I'm not really a massive fan of classical music, but I really like piano pieces.
I suffer from insomnia so i'm trying to put a playlist together which could atleast help me relax, but I am CLUELESS with most classical songs!!
I like I Giorni by Ludovico Einaudi so if anyone has any music recommendations simular to this kind of song, it would be much appreciated
    Thankyou

EINAUDI Aw I love his stuff.
Look for more by him. Le Onde, Nuvole Bianche and Berlin Song are so nice.
I know it sounds strange but look for To Zanarkand from the Final Fantasy soundtrack too!
If you're looking to delve more into classical music then Prelude in E Minor No. 4 Op. 28 by Chopin is a lovely one

Also, listen to River Flows In You by Yiruma.
I'm going a little off topic but it's such an atmospheric piece - 4th movement from Mahler's 5th Symphony. Absolutely amazing. It's quiet but in the middle it goes a little higher and louder so I wonder if you'd be able to get to sleep with it. But let me know and if you want more I'll try to help

My favourite composer Chopin . Find his Nocturnes and Etudes on youtube and of course Fantasie Impromptu. Kyle Landry is a pianist on youtube who's really well known, his own pieces and covers are realllly nice.

Try some Beethoven Sonatas. The most accessible are: The Moonlight, The Tempest, The Pathetique, the Waldstein, The Appassionata.

Also, people who like Einaudi (I don't) often like Michael Nyman (I do). try The Piano - music from the film.

As others have suggested, Beethoven's sonatas and Chopin's nocturnes are fantastic.

Also, check out some piano trios. Some of my favorites are Ravel's, Schubert's 1 & 2, and Tchaikovsky's.

Good suggestions from the others (especially Beethoven and Nyman.)
You should definitely check out Erik Satie - his music is extremely relaxing. This is probably his most famous piece:

If you're looking for modern stuff, you could try Patrick Hawes - his 'Towards the Light' album has some beautiful, relaxing pieces.
I's also recommend Yann Tiersen - his music is beautiful. He has written stuff for films including Amelie & Goodbye Lenin.

    Enjoy

+1 on both accounts... good taste

I'd have to add some Debussy:

    and this beautiful piece:

(Neither of which are too Einaudi, but tick the boxes for relaxing piano music)

Maybe a bit more in the style you specified:

    hope you like

EDIT: It's called "Merry-Go-Round of Life" by Joe Hisaishi, from the movie Howl's Moving Castle.
I know it's not strictly piano music, but I thought you might like it

If you like the Debussy that someone else recommended, I'd also recommend la fille aux cheveux de lin and la cathedrale engloutie by him!
Also, as someone mentioned as well, yann tiersen is lovely

It isn't piano, but the music of Philip Glass is very soothing.
I'd listen to , Un Sospiro by Liszt. Any of a number of Charles-Valentin Alkan's esquisses also.

    Chopin Valse in A minor
as well as his nocturnes. Those are probably the most accessible soothing pieces in the repertoire.

I have to recommend Beethoven, I was compiling a similar playlist last year and found these to be nicest to listen to:

Vivaldi four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter are my personal favourites

Beethovens fur elise, moonlight sonata as i see someone has already recommended, silencio and ode to joy

i also like Tchaikovsky's swan lake and waltz of the flowers from the nutcracker

also Michael Ortega's - The Journey is beaaaauuuuttiful :P

Chopin's Raindrop Prelude is another calming one

Einaudi would be best, his music is just amazing! I recommend you start with Nefeli, as that's what I did and can now play 9 of his pieces by heart. Yiruma is also great, river flows in you, kiss the rain, love hurts... They're all wonderful pieces

Would definitely recommend anything by Yiruma, his material is very relaxing and lovely to listen to.

My favourite piano piece in the world is 'Sheep May Safely Graze' by JS Bach:
