Do YOU think police subcultures have an effect on policing?
Hey guys, this question came up in our seminar today and we couldnt reach an agreement as a group so was wondering what everyone else think. I think it does to some extent, e.g police canteens obviously if you're listening to decriminatory remarks daily or if you're taught how to break the "rules" then surely that has an effect on the kind of police officer you become. Feel free to disagree but justify your reason please

This question is a specific instance of the question 'Does culture affect the way people behave?'. Since the answer to the general question is clearly yes, the answer to your question is also yes.
