Re: Are you using Resnet and having connection problems?
I'm having the issue of way too much data being used up in comparison to before the change. Somehow I've used 75% of my monthly quota and I haven't downloaded a single torrent or movie or whatever. The change to make Spotify and Netflix use up quota compared to before is ruining my usage. Wish it could be changed back.

Re: Are you using Resnet and having connection problems?
So if I play PS3 does that count as usage? Do you have to login to this resnet server everytime you use wifi? Because used the wifi to play ps3/pc games online and watch youtube/movies I'd probably max the usage limit in a few days. Not really fair.

Re: Are you using Resnet and having connection problems?
We have now added hourly usage statistics to the My ResNet area of our web pages at https://resnet.lancs.ac.uk - the stats are available for the last 7 days. Hopefully this will make it a bit easier for you guys to narrow-down when you are using your quota so that you have a better chance of correlating the usage with a particular application or Internet activity.
If you use more than your 100GB allowance your connection speed will just slow down to that similar to a standard ADSL2+ UK broadband connection, so you will still be able to enjoy a great web experience - our tests showed that once over quota we could still watch an HD iPlayer program, a 720p YouTube video and download a large file over HTTP all at the same time, with no delay. Connections to on-campus servers will still be at the full 100mbps line speed. -
Re: Are you using Resnet and having connection problems? That's fair! I thought you'd just cut the internet off after we exceed the limit lol(Original post by ISS Monkey 3)

Re: Are you using Resnet and having connection problems?
Anyone else having troubles accessing the resnet page that allows access to my validations and my quota etc?
I have tried on chrome, IE and mozilla, cleared the caches on all and still keep getting stuck on the gathering information about my connection page, it just keeps resetting to that page and can't even get to the co sign on login.
I am in Lonsdale residences and any help would be greatly appreciated as to whether this is at my end or the server end. -
Re: Are you using Resnet and having connection problems? We had no service issues I'm aware of over the bank holiday weekend. Doesn't mean it's not a bug though. Try clearing your cookies, that can sometimes sort it out. If it doesn't work drop an email to the service desk with your name, mac address of machine, IP address and times you're having problems accessing the site and we can take a look.(Original post by jmuir)
