    Hello all, Yank here.
Or at least I think that is what Brit's call Americans. Anywho, I am from southern USA. I even have the accent to match. I was browsing the Internet and came across some interesting threads, which rarely occurs when I am doing such, so I decided to join the site. This is actually the first site of this nature I have joined. Oh, I am a student taking a semester off in southern Virginia. Looking forward to speaking religion and politics with some cats who actually know what they are talking about, instead of "talking out of their a**es" as my mother would say. I hope this suffices..

Good for you. (I heard that, strictly speaking, "Yank" was supposed to refer to Americans from a certain part of America (I forget which) and other Americans could be offended when Brits called them the term. Buut nevermind..)

Welcome! I guess It looks pretty corny written down. (I think it's seriously cool to call people "cats". It reminds me of the Aristocats)

Over here we call any northerner a yank, not just those from New York. The term yankees as in baseball actually came from the nickname for Americans. I have just heard it a few times from people from the UK. To be honest I know nothing about Brits! By the way, that isn't derogatory or anything is it (the term Brit)? I didn't even realize, I call everyone a cat. And I love the aristocats. Haha.

Nah, Brit isn't derogatory. Er...I think "limey" is the negative American slang for Brits. I think.

But yeah, don't worry about nationalities too much. Some people here (on the Internets in general too) are a bit uncool about it but TSR seems ok in comparison.

Like the religion topics... what religious topics are you interested in?

Religion seemed to be the only generalized topic that came to mind when I was writing that. I am really interested in others views on intolerance. I actually wrote my final in a philosophy class about it a while back. Also, I am a Buddhist. So it's cool to worm into conversations as a non-objective participant, under the assumption most threads concern one of the major religions. Anyway, I am actually a junior in college which is 3rd year and I am nineteen, so at one point in time before I became pre-med I really wanted to study religion.
