Did not know where to post this so thought of posting it here.
So I want to do EPQ(Extended Project Qualification) on cancer but I really don't know what to do on? This is a project where you have to write 500000 words and make a presentation. I wanted to do no can cancer be cured but this is not really nice topic so I wanted much interesting topics on cancer to do research on.
    Plz suggest me some.
I would be grateful to you all!!!!

You sure it's not five thousand? Fifty thousand is five times the amount of a typical undergraduate dissertation. Five hundred thousand is more than my three books combined.

Can cancer be cured seems like an interesting question IMO, but surely the purpose of the EP is to research a topic you're interested in?

I don't know, I never did an EPQ - my main interest in this thread was how it fit into Creative Corner and then 500,000 words. Don't you get a supervisor or advisor of some sort who can help with formulating a question?

    Good luck.

of course it can , go into why they aren't curing it like the discussion on AID's ... AID's can be cured, basically now, but never a full cure so they can make more moneys, alot of evidence to prove this...

also vaccinations....and current cures...facts figures...that's a fairly easy write up.. living with cancer etc just add bits in, the EPQ people will lap it up because it's current and emotional

It's not in the drug companies' interests to find a cure for cancer, there are hundreds of extremely expensive life prolonging drugs and drugs which alleviate symptoms, why on earth would they want to find a cure? The number of drug companies that would go bust overnight if a cure for cancer was ever found means that they certainly aren't going to be looking very hard for a cure any time soon.

If it's caught and treated in the early stages, yes it can be cured.

You could also say that even though we get rid of cancer it can come back.

Apparently cancer has been 'cured' but nobody is batting an eyelid.
    Take a look: http://technorati.com/lifestyle/arti...ncer-has-been/

    Is this for A-level biology?

Edit - don't shoot the messenger.

If by nobody you mean the pharmaceutical companies then fair enough, but there has already been funding for recent clinical trials of this drugs from government bodies, charities and philanthropists. It also received quite a bit of media coverage so I wouldn't say that nobody is batting an eyelid.
