If it happened to me in the past, I used to ignore it and it didn't bother me at all.

But now it's happening more and more and it's really getting me down and ruining my confidence.

I can't see any way of changing it and I know it's going to get worse and worse as I get older.

What can I do?

Are you sure they're laughing at you? Even if they are, that just shows how immature they are.

Maybe you're just wearing a funny hat?

Some people are just awful. Do you find that people react like this at certain places? If so, then you may want to avoid those locations.

You could be just paranoid. I used to be really shy, and when I walked past or was near people I didn't know, I would always imagine that they were thinking horrible things about me, or if someone laughed I'd assume it was about me when in reality I was just being stupid. Even if it's true, just think that at least your not as shallow and horrible as them.

It might sound daft but is your anxiety making you walk strange? I personally hate walking on busy main roads because I feel like people are watching me and I'll look daft so I try to just focus on where I'm going and get it over and done with.

My mum, dad and boyfriend have seen me do this before (when I was on my own and not with them) and they said it looks funny because I apparently walk really super straight as if I've got to be at point B and I will stop at nothing to get to where I need to be. For me this is the opposite of what I intended but ye maybe it's something like this?

yes but they are usually looking at me when they are laughing

Do they make it obvious? Like pointing at you or otherwise? If not, you can't really assume that they're laughing at you. But OP why would they be? What's exactly wrong with your appearance?

That's what i do all the time, apparantly i look really awkward, it doesn't help that i'm pretty tall either

I've asked my friends and they've said it's normal. It doesn't happen so much when I'm with my friends, probably because I'm too distracted to notice, but when I walk on my own it's common

Yeah that's what I have. If I'm chatting to someone on the phone or walking with people I walk normal but when I'm alone I get the feeling that people are watching me. I wouldn't worry too much though - at the end of the day if they have nothing better to do then that's their problem.
