    Ford Fiesta LX 2003
    Hi everyone
Just wondering if anyone knows how possible it is to fit a USB interface in the glovebox of my ford fiesta LX 2003? The stereo in there is the 4500 rds eon, the one separated into three different parts. I want to completely avoid having to put an aftermarket stereo in there as it'd involve removing the dash etc, so ive heard that a usb interface could work? the only thing is, the interfaces I come across don't seem to be compatible with this awkward stereo!!
    Thanks in advance

Ah I had that stereo in my second car, most awkward bugger I've ever come across haha.

I ended up just putting a new stereo in, it isn't really that hard if you're scared of giving it a go bud? It isn't really three parts, underneath it's all one unit with the dash just going over it.

    Haha isn't it just!
Yeah I guess I could do that, how much roughly did that set you back? If you don't mind me asking! I've seen new dash fascia things you can get but could you not just cut out the three black bits of plastic separating it all?! How exactly did you do it? My first car was a clio and it was so much more simple to get a new stereo fitted than my fiesta!

Well I got a £400 Pioneer unit with some money I won so I got lucky with that lol, you can cheaper ones though so just have a look around and find something you like.

The space behind is for a 2-Din unit, but if you find a single din you would prefer you can get a new fascia for it.

The black plastic separating the parts I just cut off with a small hack saw, it doesn't need to look perfect as most units come with a surround that will cover it up.

You will almost definitely need an adaptor for the wiring loom behind the stereo. Something like http://www.incar-emporium.com/produc...oducts_id=4729 although you will have to check when you buy the unit. You might also need something for the aerial as well, again depending on the stereo.

You will need a cage to hold the stereo in inside the dash. Again, these usually come with new units but if not, you will need something like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-...ht_2180wt_1396. They can be tricky to fit but youtube holds answers for everything haha.

As for the unit itself, you get what you pay for usually. The only reasonable cheap brands I've seen are Xtron and Eonon if you want to give them a look.

Excluding the cost of the unit I spend around £45. However, I had another unit put in another car because I couldn't be bothered, and it only cost me £50, so it might be worth looking into that ?

You could always get one of these FM transmitter things - I have one in my car and it is brilliant. It is a Belkin one that cost £40 from Amazon, and worth every penny. Much cheaper than tearing out the original sound system, which is a massive PITA on modern Fords.

Hi, im having a similar situation and trying to remove the built in 4500 RDS cd player. I have removed the right side of the from panel but cannot get the left side off (It seems to be stuck where the de-misting and heated window buttons are)

Is there any special way to get it off. I have seen how it clips in on the right that have been undone but cannot get the left side sorted.

    Any advice?

    Thanks
