---Update--- My Experience with HTC warranty/ T-Mobile.
I have a Desire HD on T-Mobile also branded and locked to the network. I purchased the phone late February 2011, in April 2011 I discovered XDA and have been using the forum ever since but never registered as a user until today.
I rooted my phone in May 2011 and ever since has been rooted, used it to the full max, over clocking, trying different ROMS, Kernels etc.
Over the past months, I broke the GPS cover, and antenna when trying to fix it, so was unable to use GPS, clear indications on the cover showed I tampered with it, also volume rocker I broke the key and the physical hardware buttons, so hand to use menu button when in recovery and had to change the volume from menu, also broke the battery cover which was held on with tape, but as I had a cover it covered it all up. Clearly I knew I void my warranty. ):
Then I flashed a MIUI ROM, on 04 April 2012 but I flashed the wrong one, I flashed one for a different phone. ): I was unable to use the phone, the LED was flashing green and orange, I was unable to get into the boot loader, unable to connect to the computer. I did a Google search tired methods such as taking the battery out for a while but nothing worked. I decided I had to call HTC and send it off in Repair, but then decide to take it to T-Mobile store and let them do the hassle of sending it off.
Once I was at the store on the 5th April 2012, I was asked if I had insurance I said no, then asked when the phone was bought I told them February 2011, they told straight away “because your phone is more than one year old since you have had it, the phone will be sent off to our T-Mobile repair centre” I just told them Ok, I was even a ref number which I could track the progress online.
As it was Easter holidays it didn’t get to the repair centre until 11th April 2012, then on the same day they STARTED REPAIRING THE DEVICE!!! I mean everything which was shocking!! They fixed everything that was wrong with the phone, I received the phone back on 13th April 2012 I was so happy to get it back and everything was working they even replace the phone cover!

YES! SHOCKING THEY REPLACED ALL THE PROBLEMS ON A ROOTED DEVICE, TAMPERED BY USER, ALSO UNDER WARRANTY! EVERYTHING FIXED FOR FREE!! Now am wonder why? Why? I am happy but with this entire fault clearly they must have knew not to fix it? Also they were kind enough to give me a replacement phone for the mean while and only took 7DAYS! Really fast!!
Please reply back with your thoughts and why maybe they fixed it all?

Re: My Experience with HTC warranty/ T-Mobile.
My friends HTC HD2 screen failed under warranty and they fixed that and replaced a lot of internal components. Compared to other phone manufacturers they actually try to provide a good service compared with say Apple or LG which are ****. Samsung isn't bad.

That's true but still I am shocked what they did(Original post by hakking)

Yes I know but the IMEI number has changed due to the new main board but seriously with the new case on and everything fixed it looks like a refurb one ... Nope sorry I wish I took pics cos its crazy how fixed all this under warrenty as I 100% voided it with in 2 months of owning the device!(Original post by mikeyd85)

I'm genuinely surprised they didn't just send you back a refurb model... I mean dude... you trashed that phone. You have any pics of it in it's worst state?Last edited by Akpatel94; 18-04-2012 at 23:18.
