Re: Circumcisioni dont really think thats anything to do with it as firstly its not just babies who are circumscised and secondly babies grow up as well...(Original post by Psyk)
How often do babies get aids from having sex? -
Re: Circumcision(Original post by py0alb)
This is such a moronic argument.
Uncircumcised guys reckon its better to be uncircumcised for a variety of spurious reasons and are glad they weren't.

No-one will ever really know who's right, so what's the point in arguing?
Meanwhile, I'm going to sue my mum for cutting my toenails when I was 2 without my express written permission.
"This is such a moronic argument." Well thanks for the warning but unfortunately i read your comments anyway. Is your foreskin a mass of dead ever expanding tissue?

Re: CircumcisionWhat are you, like 12? I pick 12 not as a random age, but because that is almost identical to the kind of things my friends said to me when they were 12. Generally things like this stopped coming out once they had actually had sex.(Original post by tehFrance)
Yes... I last 40 minutes minimum (pen. sex, general session with foreplay is an hour to an hour and a half) without the use of condoms and other things to help... the average is apparently 6-12 minutes so really?

Re: CircumcisionAre the two comparable though? Your toenails grow back don't they? When the medical profession agree that the benefits of circumcision are outweighed by risks, shouldn't it be illegal?(Original post by py0alb)

"Routine circumcision may offer a number of potential benefits, such as reducing the risk of some types of infections. However, most healthcare professionals now agree that the risks associated with routine circumcision, such as infection and excessive bleeding, outweigh any potential benefits." - NHS.
Plus, the medical benefits of circumcision can be attained from other medical procedures, from my understanding. -
Re: CircumcisionI had phimosis but still glad i wasn't forcefully given a circumcision as a baby. I don't know the incidence of these conditions in uncircumcised males though, is it any worse than the incidence of tonsillitis or appendicitis?(Original post by bluemax)
So does anyone of you know the disadvantages of not getting circumcision?
Have any of you heard of medical conditions known as phimosis and paraphimosis?
Do you know the incidence of these conditions in uncircumcised males?Last edited by n00; 20-04-2012 at 15:15. -
Re: Circumcision
I've heard of this argument that it's "not right" for ages now!
I don't see what would be so wrong with it really? It's not doing any real harm if done by a qualified person. Plus there have been reports that it can aid in preventing STDs. not 100% sure on that one but there have been a few medical studies on the matter! -ie it's not definitive but yeah...it cant be all bad I guess! -
Re: CircumcisionEven when it's necessary?(Original post by Ann Widdecombe)
It is barbaric to mutilate a child's genitals like this. Thankfully, it isn't as widespread here in the United Kingdom as it is in the United States of America. The main perpetrators are Moslems.
http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Circumc...necessary.aspx
The NHS also have a neutral stance on circumcision:
http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Circumc...dvantages.aspx
The video in the OP is quite obviously biased, and the NHS has arguments against and for circumcision
Also, you mention Muslims, but not Jews. Why is that? -
Re: Circumcision..And then ended up killing himself because he was so messed up about it. Dr Money had a lot to answer to for that. He completely forged his findings to make it sound as though the procedure of gender choice had been successful when in actual fact it had been a horrible failure.(Original post by hippieglitter)
I did see a show once about how a little boy had his whole penis burnt off during circumcision (not a clue what they were doing there). His parents were told to raise him as a girl and at the age of 15 when they told him he decided to live as man and was awaiting an operation to have his penis reconstructed. -
Re: CircumcisionAFAIK, it has to be done by a professional - the reason why you get circumcision centres in the UK, or why people just go to private clinics(Original post by Electronica)
Then it should be the NHS that performs it. Not some religious nut with no qualification... -
Re: CircumcisionIn comparison to what? When you had foreskin or to the hundreds of uncircumcised males that you must routinely ask "So, how long do you last in bed?"(Original post by tehFrance)
I last longer in bed so it is fine by me. -
Re: CircumcisionWould you like to chop your clitoris off? Keeps your vagina cleaner, you know. Can't be all bad!(Original post by Doctor.)

Re: CircumcisionExactly, they grow up into adults who can make their own decisions about what body parts they want to remove. If the medical benefits do not apply until adulthood, then the surgery can wait till then so they can make the decision themselves.(Original post by cl_steele)

Maybe it does make sense in places where HIV is widespread and people are poor because they may not have the means to get it done later in life. But in any western country, any argument relating to stis does not apply to circumcising babies. -

reduces risks of stds http://health.usnews.com/health-news...s-against-stdsThere's things for that. They're called condoms!(Original post by imMcLovin)
having a circumcision lowers chances of catching std's

Re: CircumcisionRemoving the clit would be similar to chopping your entire penis off, how old are you, 12?... If you've not noticed, removing the foreskin doesn't damage the part where neurones run though...Hence you still have full sensation. Whereas removing the clit would completely destroy sensitive part.(Original post by FrigidSymphony)

I don't see any disadvantage of removing the foreskin tbh. There is a possible advantage in terms of STD protection.
Maybe you should crack an anatomy book open sometime?

Re: Circumcision
I've been circumcised since I was very small (giggety), and it's one of my earliest memories - I remember it being ****ing painful for a good week after the operation.
However, looking back on it, I'm not too fussed. My cock still works in every way it's supposed to so I see no point making a big fuss over it. I think it looks neater personally. -
