I've been thinking about how I'm going to get my makeup to stay on when it starts getting really hot, since it's beginning to be hot already where I am.

I've already got long-wearing foundation, and I use powder over it and blot it when I need to, but I was wondering if any of you knew a primer that makes a big difference to how long your makeup lasts, especially in the heat? Ideally I wouldn't end up looking a sweaty, spotty mess after a few hours in the sun! (natural beauty is great and all, but my skin is not great. I like foundation.)

So, anyone got any recommendations for me? Which primers should I be looking at??

Benefit the POREfessional, although pricey, works wonderfully.

I've never had any problems with MAC Prep+Prime, and I think there is one with an SPF too which is always good in the Summer

The poreprofessional by benefit is good. Ever so smooth and silky.

I use MAC for day to evening wear when I want my makeup not to move until I take it off, but for every day wear during the summer I go for Benefit Dr Feelgood.

Smashbox are renowned in the beauty world for their photofinish primer so definitely worth checking it out. They do different formulations for different skintypes. I'm currently using Shu Uemura under base mousse which is really good and has SPF in it too.

If you want something a bit cheaper, GOSH velvet touch primer is supposed to be pretty good.

I'd definitely try and get some samples of different primers to find one you like

I don't know about the above primers as I can't really afford to splurge on them
But on my budget I use the Accessorise one which works well for me

I genuinely thought from the title you were refferring to the start of the summer shooting season, and were into reloading bulllets, so i was gonna say these

Try monistat chafing gel, it's amazing as a primer and super cheap!
try looking at reviews on google, most people think it rivals or is better than the smashbox primer

The best and cheaper primer I've found is milk of magnesium! just dab it onto your oily patches at the beginning of the day.

otherwise I've used no7 shine free primer(theres always a £5 voucher somwhere), cargo face activating primer, and elf mineral primer. No7 being the best from those

i really like the elf mineral primer i only use foundation for "going out" so i didnt want to spend too much money on primer this one is really affordable, and i absolutely love how soft it makes my skin feel!

Benefit poreprofessional is amazing. But you should really take a look at different foundations for the summer if you find that your current one won't hold up.

I've recently bought Witch anti-blemish skin clearing primer which makes my skin look a lot smoother than it normally does when I'm wearing foundation :-) It's only £6.99 too which is a lot cheaper than most others
