Judging by the username, you couldn't afford the fine anyway. Or you could offer to pay them via a mechanism based on selling car parts in the future.
Acutally money is very much a little issue and I'm not one bit bothered about that. People with no money don't drive the new Ford Focus. I'm only caring about the points!

Hi OP, I live in Glasgow and my dad was recently caught going 43 in a 30 zone. Not sure why it didn't flash before, could have been faulty and they fixed it. As for the flash, my dad was caught during the afternoon and we could tell. if it flashed before you would know.

Unless you were going way more than 40, i think the limit is around 45/50 then you'll probably just pay £60 and 3 points.

You can check here if you've got a speeding ticket! Just put your registration number into it.

    http://www.i-database.co.uk/
I googled this website as it seems a bit dodgy and found this http://www.dcsafetycameras.org/news/...ofWebsite.aspx

It's only 14 days to wait if you think you have been caught, just wait it out rather then giving some random website any of your details.

Ok, I googled further and found it to be a joke haha but still, if you think you have been caught just wait and see and watch your speed from now on haha

Haha I put in a random reg number and it came up with a roundabout near where I live but somewhere I know I was no where near on the date it said. I then put it another random reg no and the same roundabout, date and speed etc came up haha. Funny to trick your friends though.

haha yeah was a definite fail from me, it wasn't till I saw your post that I realised whilst the address is near where I am at the moment, I was at my parents house on the date it said and didn't even drive that day, blonde moment . And then if you click see picture it admits its a joke, silly me.

lolol Don't worry, I fell for it too. When you click on "view picture" a funny face comes up and it says "you've been pranked", as you have said. You should have done that first to save yourself the worry. It looked so real I was about to jump off of something very high lol

Sorry for nearly giving you a heart attack!

Thanks Jack. Was it a speed camera that took a picture from behind the car, though?

Is there mechanism for him just to loose his license and start again?
If I did lose my licence then I would just sit the test again. Not the end of the world. Anyway, by law, you can only be a new driver once. Even though it takes a new driver 6points in the first two years, if you lose your licence even within that 2years, and then resit the test and pass, you're no longer a new driver. Meaning it then takes you 12points to lose your licence.

It may seem as easy as, oh I'll just sit the test again but then of course you have to pass. If you lose your license you have to pay for a new provisional and then pay and pass both the theory and the practical test.

I passed my test 2 years ago in July but only got a car a few weeks ago so luckily only have 3 months "probation period" instead of 2 years. Obviously I don't drive like an idiot anyway but I've been watching my speed like a hawk haha.

Obviously I want to keep my licences but if it happens, it happens. Nothing can be done about it now. I may and probably have only been caught once. Which means I, too, will be watching my speed like a hawk, only I'll be doing it for slightly longer than you.

That was the case not long ago but not its just 10% and the police can attempt to prosecute you if you're going 31 mph, why? Because the ACPO is just a set of guidelines.
No-one has ever been prosecuted for doing 31. In my job as fleet manager 35 is the lowest i've ever seen.

If you actually read my posts you would notice that I didn't even know there was a camera there until I got flashed, which is the last time I've been down that road.
How many times have you been down the road? Did you not notice all the lines on the road?

I do now. Thing is, i usualy cut onto this road closer to the camera, which makes me think that I've not been flashed before because I havent built up enough speed by the time I got to the camera for it to flash. I've been told off of many people that I would have noticed a flash even if it was behind me and in day light.
