It sounds odd but Barcelona 2-2 Chelsea last week. Other than that, there have been some great games down the years for me:

    Coventry 2-3 Ipswich
    Chelsea 4-4 Liverpool
    Chelsea 3-2 Liverpool

Televised football is like shagging with a durex on. Greatest game I've seen live was QPR v Liverpool a few weeks ago. I haven't been to many games let alone exciting ones, but that was great!

Best games I've been to live:

April 2003 - Manchester United 4-3 Real Madrid CF (5-6 agg) ... the sheer brilliance of Ronaldo, David Beckham bowing out with two great goals, a famous comeback win over the unbeatable Galacticos team and the end of a dream all at one time. United would not be going on to play the final on home turf. Very emotional night in an amazing atmosphere at Old Trafford.

September 1997 - Manchester United 3-2 Juventus ... my first European night at the Theatre of Dreams and it was breathtaking. Juventus arrived a side that had been in the last two finals, and took the lead in the first minute through Del Piero. We came back with Sheringham, and Scholes, and Giggs scored right at the end to wrap it up but it still wasn't over. Zidane fired in a late goal for the Bianconeri, but United held on! God I miss those big european nights under the floodlights, we still have them but it never gets as loud or as intense.

September 2011 - Leeds United 0-3 Manchester United ... possibly the best atmosphere of the last decade or so according to most who were there. We hadn't played at Elland Road in nine years, and we simply had to avenge that cup exit the year before. We could not lose! Buzzed so hard off the hostile atmosphere we got there, there's nothing quite as fun as going to a town where everybody despises you. It was a deafeningly loud night with the whole stand rocking and we outclassed and outplayed them.

Others that nearly made the cut: United 2-0 Arsenal (49 and out!), United 8-2 Arsenal, United 3-2 Villa (Machedaaaaaaa!), United 1-0 Barcelona, United 2-0 Internazionale, United 3-2 RC Deportivo, and United 5-2 Spurs.
The 8-2 mauling got boring after the 5th goal.

And that 2-0 win was one of the WORST games ever IMHO - the refereeing decisions that day were outrageous, total bias towards United, but nought will ever change. We should have got a blatant penalty and had a United player (Giggs I think) sent off, we got a free kick, he got let off. Well well well...

And as for your penalty.... one of the most blatant dives ever by Rooney. Didnt get near Campbell, could have got a Gold for diving in that year's Olympics!! But United will never change. Ronaldo was (and still is!!) the worst for that....

Personally, I prefer your first visit to the Emirates - 1-0 down in the 83rd minute, Arsenal scored two very late goals to get the Double over United that season. Couldnt stop grinning, and still smile every time I see that game replayed!!

that was boring, it was just real madrid raping spurs and having like 80% possession if i remember rightly?

also someone else said the 2010 WC final? really? holland ruined both the semi-final and the final, it was shameful.
true, but i thought that it was one of the greatest matches for real madrid that season. you would actually enjoy watching it.

but i thought spain vs portugal 2010 WC was good.

Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Wycombe Wanderers - 5th May. Incredible, Hillsborough was bouncing from start to finish, a controlled and easy win. We were outstanding. For the all round experience and importance of this game, it was one of the best days of my life.

Congrats on your promotion! I was there. Hopefully next season we will come back up again!

Best football match I went to was probably Wycombe 1 - 1 Chelsea in the CC Semi Final First Leg.

Holland 2-3 Czech Republic in Euro 2004. That Czech side was out of this world for quality, I still can't believe they didn't win it.

    Thanks.

Wycombe fan I guess? Your supporters certainly left a lasting impression on Wednesday fans. All of League One seemed to be glad United weren't going up.

Seen live? Probably Mansfield Town 4-5 Bristol City. Best I've ever seen on telly would be a toss up between two Champion's League finals (1999 and 2005), Man City vs QPR, and the last 2 Championship Playoff finals.

Chelsea vs liverpool 4-4 in the champions league.
    Chelsea vs napoli 4-1.
Or Chelsea vs barcelona this year 2-2. When ramires scored I went wild.

Although the chelsea vs wigan 8-0 two years ago was fantastic too.

Every spain match was boring in the world cup.
The only good match was uruguay vs ghana. Brazil vs holland was boring.
Germany vs argentina was boring and england had no chance after it got to 3-1.

I remember this, it reminded me of the Spain-Yugoslavia game from euro2000 which was much better. I think it each team teneded to score one after the other making it uber exciting.

man utd vd v real madrid 4-3 in 2002. Not a fan of either and there may have been more dramatic games, but for sheer end to end action from world class footballers, cant remember any better

    Man Utd VS Juventus 1998-1999.

I wish the current Man Utd team was as determined as the 1999 squad. But I am not complaining, as the current squad has done brilliantly.
