My first time singing and playing guitar - need your complete honesty!
Hi all,
I've been playing guitar for a few years and have only recently decided to start trying to sing. I'm really into City and Colour at the minute, but all the vocals are sang at quite a high pitch, I'm not sure if I can pull it off heh.
Could you please give me your complete and utter honest feedback? I've been asked to sing and play at house parties before but have always been too scared to sing because I honestly have no idea how I sound. If I sound absolutely woeful then do tell me!!
Here's a link, it's just a short piece of a song:

You are very good at it. -

Wow.. thanks for all the positive comments. I really.. REALLY didn't expect that.
Haha it was a City and Colour song I was singing! I guess that's a good sign :O.(Original post by kingkongjaffa)
that was great you sound a bit like dallas green look up City and Coulour -
Re: My first time singing and playing guitar - need your complete honesty! For a first time that was pretty good! Singing while playing is hard so you've done well. Your voice is a little bit flat; but I suspect that's due to nerves more than anything. It's good though; make sure you realise that(Original post by Wake1988)

Your Es are a tad odd. I think it's your upper limit. Try singing in flat notes next time, you may find it more comfortable.
Aside from comfort, that was really good.
The guitar playing wasn't awfully intricate - Definitely could work on that but I assume you're more concerned about vocals than guitar so I'm not gonna go there.
Well done overall

You said be honest - You sound a little whiney to me but fine for a party. You have a good voice I just think you need to practice. -

I think it's really good man, I will be honest. Got that coldplayish type sound to it and your voice is really good. I can't pick a big fault. Or even a small one. And did you write the song? try and finish it, it's got a good melody.
