How many shots will get me 'buzzing' to revise hard? Coffee and Redbull don't work...
So quite simply, I find it very difficult to work after 10pm. Any subject. I've done next to ****-all, all day. So now I need to put in atleast 10-1, 3 hours sharp.
Coffee doesn't keep me awake. Redbull doesn't work for me. So thinking of trying a new tactic. Because otherwise i'm going to fall asleep within 7 minutes of laying on my bed. I'm quite tired.
Shots.
Going to Tesco now with £20 for a 1L bottle (obviously not to drink all today but ~£17 to last me until start of exams), and £2.50 meal deal (sandwich for energy, coke for mixer, fruit/crisps for energy/snack).
When I pre-drink for nights out, I can drink a lot (because I want to get drunk), but obviously tonight, I just want to be 'buzzing' so I can work for 3 hours.
I'm thinking of across the 3 hours having 5 shots; one every 36-minutes. As soon as I have the shot, for 4 minutes, dance to a song, get myself re-buzzed, and then crack on with work.
Is this something that might work? Or will it be even worse than no supplement (but tbh in that case i'll definitely fall asleep before 11, nevermind 1).
Shall I do this? -
Re: How many shots will get me 'buzzing' to revise hard? Coffee and Redbull don't wor
Don't drink red bull for one.
Firstly it's stupidly expensive and secondly it is not as effective as other brands.
Monster seems to be the most potent, because of all the other stuff they put in it. Also Khaos is most likely the tastiest energy drink I've had. -
Re: How many shots will get me 'buzzing' to revise hard? Coffee and Redbull don't wor
don't understand why people think drinking coffee and Red Bull will magically keep them up all night and they'll feel fresh. It will give you a small buzz but the crash is just even worse.
People on this site really are a strange bunch. Go to bed, get up at a decent time, have a proper breakfast and just work all day tomorrow. You're gonna feel tired if you're working late at night and drinking alcohol to keep you up seems a weird tactic, if anything it makes me feel more tired.Last edited by Dorito; 19-04-2012 at 22:02. -
Re: How many shots will get me 'buzzing' to revise hard? Coffee and Redbull don't wor
Yeah, as the person above says, alcohol is a depressant, so all it will do is dull your senses. You might find that you get a bit of a buzz to keep you awake for a while, but I'd be surprised if it allowed you to concentrate on your work...
Try sticking your head out of the window, and stay as far from your bed as possible. The cold night air always helps to keep me awake!
Edit: Or actually, if it's just revision and isn't urgent, go to bed and work tomorrow, like most people are suggesting. You'll concentrate much better.Last edited by FrogInABog; 19-04-2012 at 22:06. -

Alcohol is a depressant, it wont work.
I realise that, infact i've studied that. But I only need to work for 3 hours, not all night. Surely it will keep me awake/buzzing for 3 hours, just had 1, and feel better already(Original post by Dorito)

Re: How many shots will get me 'buzzing' to revise hard? Coffee and Redbull don't worApparently Crystal Meth gives you an amazing buzz and some people can stay focused during revision for 12 hours!(Original post by FrogInABog)

Not that i'm going to go that far haha, but if I fear failing and not even passing the year with 40, night before my exam, I might, doubt it, but possibly try meth
Okay, sandwich eaten, 1 shot down, time to get cracking

Re: How many shots will get me 'buzzing' to revise hard? Coffee and Redbull don't wor
As Rory rightly said, alcohol is a depressant so if anything it will make you slightly more drowsy or just have no affect at all. What's more is it has detrimental effects on cognition, so your revision is not likely to be nearly as effective as it would be without the shots; you might feel as though you're doing efficient, effective revision, but none of it will really be sticking.
If you're trying to cram then there's really no point anyway, just get some sleep. -
Re: How many shots will get me 'buzzing' to revise hard? Coffee and Redbull don't wor
my friend and i had a phase a few months back when we had all our assignments due. we had to stay up every night til like two, get up to attend school at like seven and it was starting to get to us. so during our free periods, we'd go out to a small shop nearby and buy loads of liquor and head back to school tipsy. it was fun, and it was seriously the only thing that kept us going day in and day out for about a whole month. the thing is though, i always had alcohol in my system for weeks on end, so even though i wasn't getting piss wasted or anything, i'd get up with a headache every morning, and feel dizzy here and there and occasionally feel the need to just lie down and relax. don't remember how this anecdote was relevant to this situation, but i guess my two cents would be: have a shot or two, or three, but don't overdo it cause then you'll just wanna sleep. k good luck

Re: How many shots will get me 'buzzing' to revise hard? Coffee and Redbull don't wor
just go to bed early and work for a little longer tomorrow? chances are you wont remember half of what you'd revise tonight anyway, so you'd need to go over it again - plus you'll probably be so tired tomorrow that you wont get any work done, and so the cycle continues...

Re: How many shots will get me 'buzzing' to revise hard?
