Tbh I think he could've still became one of the best; he just needed to calm down and relax whilst at the table.

Too bad he retired.

He wouldve been among the best. No denying that. But he wouldnt dominate among todays lot and that would mean fewer frames which would reduce his break stats well below ronnies.

Perhaps calling him shaun murphy is harsh.

Maguire was about to break off in the first frame when he realised he had forgotten his chalk.

He was granted permission by the referee, Johan Oomen, to go and get some chalk from his dressing room.

While he was out of the arena, Murphy approached Oomen to remind him that players should be docked a frame if they are not ready to play at the scheduled time.

The tournament director, Mike Ganley, was called and Maguire was docked a frame on his arrival back at the table.

I hope Ronnie sticks around for some time to come, he's shown he can still contend so it would make little sense for him to throw in the towel. I guess it will come down to wether he can be arsed with the tour any more.

Anyone else finding this pub quiz feature on the beeb shockingly awful, so cringe worthy.
Come on mathew? From the commentators?

COME ON THE ROCKET!
Excellent sportsmanship from stevens.

I'd really like Stevens to win this tournament.

Losing twice in the final is gutting.

I quite like him. If ronnie were out id be rooting for him.

Not sure the thinly veiled bias is going to do his popularity any favors and I don't sense he's particularly happy with the situation.

The commentators are now sighing when ronnie gets a chance.
