Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...Basically my mum kept on going on about how I'd put on weight when I was back home for the holidays and I guess that kinda made me want to lose weight but I'd already been planning on trying to up my exercise because being in Canada next year I'm going to be doing a lot more exercise skiing and skating etc. so wanted to lay groundworks for that if that makes sense.(Original post by Lantana)
Just wanted to encourage you. Sounds like you've made a good start. Are you just trying to get fitter and hoping you'll lose some weight on the way or are you using the exercise to lose weight? -

Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...Day 11 - no exercise today cos bitch of an exam (although of course that did mean walking into uni so some exercise I guess!
Food pretty awful too: brunch = sausage rolls, dinner = eggy bread, snacks = bananas on toast.
And food is going to be bad over next little while. Tomorrow is gonna be fine, but then day after is birthday so I'm gonna treat myself, then two days after having LOTR extended edition marathon so that'll be takeaway again! -

Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...Day 12 - Exercise was good but I really am VERY badly co-ordinated (seriously oblique twists are a challenge, moving feet and arms in opposite directions does not seem to work for me...) planks are getting better but still very much lacking in upper body strength!
Food: cheese and marmite toastie for brunch, apple for afternoon snack, dinner will be bbq chicken and carrots, desert will be banana -

Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...Day 13 - I exercised, even though it's my birthday. Utter insanity! Pretty much same as yesterday but a little bit better, can hold plank for longer etc.
Food - Brunch = bananas on toast
Afternoon snack = Raspberries
Dinner = Pasta and Bacon (treat for my birthday)
Desert = BIRTHDAY CAKE
(as you can tell I'm a little excited it's my birthday!) -
Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...You're being very restrained considering! Anyhow, happy birthday!(Original post by greeneyedgirl)

Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...Thank you! Ha ha considering how good the birthday cake is (my flatmate makes BEST cake ever) I'll probably end up eating half
but main celebrations are on Friday (LOTR marathon with a takeaway, popcorn and toffee apples) so that'll be VERY unhealthy!

Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...If you fancy a trip up to Glasgow you are very welcome. Also we're watching the extended editions so it will be 12 hours of your life (but what a fabby way to spend 12 hours
)

Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...Don't tempt me! Alas, it would be somewhat late by the time I got home, changed, packed and got up to yours(Original post by greeneyedgirl)

Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...This is very true. Newcastle and Glasgow are much further apart than one would assume! Ah well, when you finish mid July you can have your own LOTR fest.(Original post by Lantana)

Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...Day 16 - Oops, no exercise, that's 3 days in a row...no excuse, just didn't do much yesterday! Food was okay though, breakfast was strawberries, lunch was chicken pasta, dinner was beans on toast.
Day 17 - Tried to exercise but then felt really light headed so stopped. Made it half way through work out 3 before stopping though...assuming it's because of blood donation and piercings but still gutted. After watching Newcastle game did 4 minutes of ab exercises because it was the cardio stuff which had made me feel faint so thought would just do some ab stuff so at least did something. Tomorrow GOING to do work out 3 even if I have to break for a few minutes in middle.
Food wise...erm well I haven't actually eaten yet...okay so that may have something to do with lightheadedness too...but I haven't been hungry. Gonna go to sainsburys to get some eggs then handmake chicken goujons to have with beans and maybe a really nice crusty roll. Then will have bananas for pudding. -

Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...Day 18 - Managed all of work out 3 (had to have a break in the middle because I got hiccups!!) one of my major issues is I physically cannot do a push up, even a girly one so those moves just are impossible for me!
Food: Eggy bread for brunch then my friend is treating me to a curry for a birthday present tonight so I will be having curry. Then evening snack I'll have raspberries.
Can't see any noticeable difference from day 10 which is a bit depressing but I guess I haven't exercised as much and it's probably easier losing the first bit of weight. -

Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...Oh also I'm walking to and from town today (twenty minute/half hour walk each way) and I'm gonna try and do it at a fast pace rather than dawdling just to get an extra bit of cardio in there.

Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...Great effort overall and good idea here - upping the intensity makes for a better work out(Original post by greeneyedgirl)

Hope you had a good birthday - the odd celebration won't hurt
Keep it up!

Re: GEG attempts the 30 Day Shred...
I'm on day 5 of the 30 day shred and still struggling. I still can't do all of the push-ups (knee ones) and squat and press'. Getting a bit stressed out that i still cant do it al without stopping for breaks. Oh well, I've lost 5 pounds though!
I like reading your blog, really giving me an idea of whats to come. Also since I read you had piri piri chicken ive decided to have it for dinner!
but main celebrations are on Friday (LOTR marathon with a takeaway, popcorn and toffee apples) so that'll be VERY unhealthy!
