    RHCP fans?
    Hey all,
I'm new to the student room and I was shocked to find out there weren't any social groups for Red Hot Chili Pepper fans. So I went ahead and created one. If anyone happens to be an avid fan, do join in. Which Red Hot Chili Pepper song is your favourite?

It's been a while since I seriously listened to them, I kind of stopped after the latest album.

Don't know about you mate but after I started listening to them, I could never bring myself to stop. I'm With You was recorded with Klinghoffer. Frusciante and Slovak defined RHCP's repertoire with the guitar in the early years - those were the ones which saw their best music!

I love RHCP, they've had their ups and downs but I still think they're brilliant. My favourite song of all time would have to be Californication, I know it's probably their best known too but it's just perfect, the riff, the lyrics, the sound... I just love it, and it's the song that first got me interested in them.

Have you listened to Frusciante's solo work? I love it, I'd highly recommend you listen to his album The Empyrean.

Perfect, at least I'm not alone. The first song I ever listened to was Minor Thing. Not very famous but I got addicted to the track straight away. Now that you mention it, no, I haven't listened to any of Frusciante's solo work. Maybe I shall, soon.

I didn't think their new album was as good as Californication, or Blood sugar sex magik, which was my favourite. It wasn't bad, but it didn't have the same.. gah, I don't know. New guitarist maybe.
Favourite song though, I could have lied, or Parallel universe

    Massive RHCP fan here!
Best album has to be Blood Sugar Sex Magic, with the best song being "I could have lied", listen to the solo in that because it is truly amazing.

Also Frusciante is an amazing solo artist as well, his work is very different to the chilis stuff but he makes the most beautiful music. The album curtains is genuinely stunning.

Yes, another frusciante fan! His best album has to be Curtains. The songs are just so beautiful. Listen to "time tonight", "the real" and "anne"

My favourite songs in BSSM would be The Power Of Equality, Sir Psycho Sexy and Breaking The Girl. Don't get me wrong though, the whole album is brilliant, Balzary's bass lines are just too good!

yeah it is an amazing album, great mixture of funky base lines and slower songs (Under the bridge, could have lied). Fruciante and Flea make such a good partnership

I can relate to that feeling. Just recently I stumbled across a horde of their B-sides that I'd just ignored!

    I love RHCP too.

I went to see them at the O2 arena earlier in the year. It was awesome! I miss Frusciante's crazy/awesome live soloing though .

Lucky! I live in Abu Dhabi and the odds of getting to see RHCP live here are dismal. With exams, school and whatnot, travelling is also not an option.

 Hopefully you will be able to see them one day! However I would try to do so in the next 3-5 years as they're getting on a bit now and may not want to keep touring for too much longer (although it's hard to say!).
