    For those doing Lysistrata:

In the 2010 Examiners Report, it says 'candiates were unable to update the contesxt without trivalising it... the play is more than a sexaul romp and vast numbers of candidates appeared not to appreciate the political satire inherent in the piece'

I think I've covered political too, but I do emphasise the sexual message a great deal more, what is anyone saying about political? Is everyone quite basic too?
Just make sure you mention the fact that one of Aristiphanes' intentions was to depict the message of anti-war (and feminism). That's why I'm rooting mine in greek tradition, but not restraining my piece to it.

How would the invigilators check if you've plagiarized content from websites?

Are they really going to check everyone's notes thoroughly?

It's an A Level exam. If you've taken something from Wikipedia, of course they're going to know, and hence check. Why would you even risk it or consider it?! Just write your own! Wikipedia and other internet sites are rarely accurate anyway.

Remember, though, that it's unlikely that Aristophanes did want to present feminist themes; by presenting what the Greeks considered to be highly irrational creatures (women) as more rational than the war, he is highlighting how irrational war is!

How did people find section A?
Edexcel, STEP and IB exams are taken across the world. This means that people in one country might have finished an exam that hasn't even started somewhere else. In order to make the exams as fair as possible (and to discourage cheating), we'll close any threads on Edexcel, CIE, STEP and IB exams until sufficient time has passed.

This means no discussion AT ALL - not even "I found it hard/easy", "I dropped my pencil", and could include conveying this via smilies or similar. The line between

    "I found it hard" and
"I found question 2 hard" and
    "I found question 2 about <insert subject> hard"

is very blurred. What starts as innocent discussion can turn into disclosures of exam content. We're therefore operating a zero tolerance policy on discussing exams:

For Edexcel: morning exams may not be discussed until 12:00 midnight (UK time) and afternoon exams until 4:30 AM (UK time).
    Ask again in 12 hours!!

Aristophanes did not write a feminist play.

Is it important to choose a theatre to set your performance for your concept? Wasn't told I had to do this...
I doubt you will lose marks over it. I didn't even find it relevant: 1 was planning on setting mine in the Fortune Theatre but in the actual exam I didn't mention it.

    (Original post by Elzie)
I wouldn't.. They could do you for plagarism because it's not your work.
The notes aren't actually sent off unless called for by the exam board (a rare case I might add).

Also what i did, is have four columns Have the OPC the play you seen and then siliarties and differences its easier because you can easily see when your in the exam!
I preferred to have mine under titles, so I wasn't restricted into matching certain points.

The first question was horrific! I just had to make it up. I enjoyed the second question of section A as I had quite a few rehearsal techniques written in my script for that, but wasn't keen on the 10 mark one as I don't have many vocal techniques!

Section B was quite nice, although my concept isn't very strong so I'm not too confident on that one!

I loved Section C, filled all the available space for that one
