Re: EdExcel -- A2 -- Drama & Theatre Studies
Thankfully, our teacher was an absolute pro with exam prep, because she's also an examiner, so she could tell us exactly what to write in the exam.
But it absolutely amazed me that even though we knew well ahead of the exam that we could take notes in, some people in my class decided to only start writing them up the morning or the exam
Oh well, they're own fault if they get rubbish marks I guess.
Did anyone else have classmates that just didn't really seem to give a hoot? It's so frustrating, especially when you care about the subject so much, like I do

And ofc, it is to be expected. -

Re: EdExcel -- A2 -- Drama & Theatre StudiesWow that's amazing! You must have done really well at AS too!(Original post by rachbeanz)
got a c in the paper !! didnt even finish it so was kinda expecting that. but got an A overall in drama as did better in practical. how about u?
I got an A* my teacher spent a good 15 minutes telling me the week before the exam to prepare myself for a B at best cause I missed a lot of school (genuine reasons) and statistics directly correlate poor performance and lack of attendance ...
I know my timing went a bit mental! I wrote like 6 pages for the first essay bit and 2 for the second essay bit and thought I would get heavily penalised!
I also wrote something stupid in a panic at the end like Aphrodite's facial expression... and thought damn they won't think I can distinguish actors from fictional characters... low grade here I come! -

Re: EdExcel -- A2 -- Drama & Theatre Studies
I was pretty gutted I got a B over all in drama because I had always been predicted an A. I had a low B in the exam after getting an A* in every mock and I basically wrote the same answers I had in mocks. I got the highest over all grade which was still only a B so I feel pretty mislead by my drama teacher. She (after saying she would) didn't text or email any of us after results too so we are all a bit confused. That's teachers for you though!

Re: EdExcel -- A2 -- Drama & Theatre StudiesI don't know if trying to give some advice will be helpful or annoying, but maybe ' I basically wrote the same answers as I had in mocks' was why... when writing any essay you should refer back to the title of as much as possible, writing very specifically for the question. I think there is something in some of the edexcel online material with an examiner complaining that a lot of students had sprouted out pre written essays which were good if they had another title but missed the point of the question (actually that might have been aqa english, but same concept).(Original post by Aconfusedstudent)
