    Immigrant Welfare Bill 2012

    An Act stopping immigrants from receiving welfare for an extended period of time from the state.

    BE IT ENACTED by The Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Commons in this present Parliament assembled, in accordance with the provisions of the Parliament Acts 1911 and 1949, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

    Part I: Qualification for Welfare
    (a) You may only claim welfare if you have been naturalised as a British citizen or hold dual nationality. To qualify for naturalisation, you need to meet the following criteria:-
    (i) If you are over 18 and have been living in the United Kingdom for the last five years (or three years if you are married to or a civil partner of a British citizen) you may be able to apply for naturalisation.
    (ii)You may also be able to apply for naturalisation if you or your husband, wife or civil partner is in crown or designated service outside the United Kingdom

    Part II: Job Seeker’s Allowance
    (a) Immigrants will be given 6 moths of Job Seeker’s Allowance upon losing their job before being deported if they have not been naturalised as a British citizen.

    Part III: Enforcement
    (a) The enforcement of this Act should be the responsibility of the Police forces of the UK and The UK Border Agency.
    (b) Unemployed immigrants who have not been naturalised as a British citizen will be subsequently deported back to their country of origin with their family who migrated with them after 6 months since their last employment.

    Part IV: Exemptions
    (a) Immigrants with children in education will be not be deported.
    (b) If students decide to stay in the UK but do not have a job, they will be granted 6 months of JSA before being deported after finishing their degree if they are unable to find a job satisfying the criteria of qualifying for immigration, or they have not been naturalised as a British citizen.
    (c) High Value Migrants will be given 2 years and 6 months of JSA before being considered for deportation.
    (d) EU Nationals and Asylum Seekers are also exempt from this bill
    (b) The Secretary of State will be granted the power to make further exemptions to this Act as he finds necessary.

    Part IV: Commencement, Short Title and Extent
    (a) This Act may be cited as the Immigration Welfare Act 2012
    (b) This bill shall extend to the United Kingdom; and
    (c) Shall come into force on the 1st January 2013 following Royal Assent


    Devolution Notes1. This bill shall extend to England; and
    2. Shall come into force on the 1st January 2013 following Royal Assent; and
    3. Shall be passed to the Welsh Assembly Government for their consideration; and
    4. Subject to changes made by the National Assembly for Wales; and
    5. Subject to an affirmative vote shall come into force on the 1st January 2013 following Royal
    Assent; and
    6. Shall be passed to the Northern Ireland Executive for their consideration; and
    7. Subject to changes made by the Northern Ireland Assembly; and
    8. Subject to an affirmative vote in accordance with the conditions specified in Section 4.4 of the Federal Britain Act (2010);
    9. Shall come into force on the 1st January 2013 following Royal Assent; and
    10. Shall be passed to the Scottish Executive for their consideration; and
    11. Subject to changes made by the Scottish Parliament; and
    12. Subject to an affirmative vote shall come into force on the 1st January 2013 following Royal Assent

    I don't think it is tough enough on immigration but I will support it as some sort of compromise.
