is this a hangover or something worse?
im a girl quite short and small.
basically last night i went out and got INCREDIBLY drunk.
bear in mind it normally takes 2 doubles for me to be drunk
last night i had about
12 vodka shots
4 malibu shots
3 alcopops
i didnt think i was that affected, i only got about 2 hours sleep and then i went out today.
i have been hungover before- feel groggy etc.
But today i had a bottle of cider and after about 30 mins i almost passed out. I was out in town and suddenely i just boiled up, and felt sooooooo hot and i thought i was going to collapse. My mate was like ''are you ok you look really ill''
i hadnt eaten or anything until about 5pm today. and then i felt much better.
but now my stomach feels all weird and warm. is this normal? ive already been drinking today and going out again tonight just wondered if this is normal? (i wont be drinking anymore though before anyone says anything!) -
Re: is this a hangover or something worse?
Honestly, its really not worth it getting that drunk, your not in control of yourself, and it affects your body to a big extent. Your better of just enjoying a glass or two of wine or something.
Don't go out tonight, give your body time to recover. Have water, have some boiled rice, and if you still feel weird in the morning go to a walk in centre. -

No this is a hangover. Hot sweats after alcohol drinking is all part of the process in recovering. Trust me I've had it happen too many times to count using my hands.
Your stomach feels dodgy? Well what do you expect, you've given it a battering. It deserves the right to demonstrate that it doesn't appreciate this.
I'm guessing you don't get drunk like this often then? -
Re: is this a hangover or something worse?Hindsight is wonderful. How was this helpful?(Original post by insignificant)

I disagree though, drinking more than 2 glasses of wine can lead to an amazing time. Drinking more than 2 bottles and you may be ****ed though. -

Re: is this a hangover or something worse?
That doesn't sound healthy, perhaps you were dehydrated or maybe it was because you hadn't had anything to eat. An empty stomach after drinking isn't a happy one!
I'm not going to lecture you about being drunk etc because lets face it, we've all been there, done that at some point in our lives but I do think you should keep drinking plenty of water, have regular meals and go to the doctors tomorrow. No harm in just checking that everything's fine, it does not sound like a normal hangover and your friend did say you looked really ill. I wouldn't go out tonight, but that's up to you - if you're not going to drink ask for tap water - will probably make you feel better. Good luck

Re: is this a hangover or something worse?I've found drinking is the best cure for really bad hangovers.(Original post by z0tx)
Sorry but... why would you do this?
inb4 anecdotal evidence, no I don't have any source. -
Re: is this a hangover or something worse?
Hair of the Dog. Best cure for a hangover. But yes, it's a hangover. And btw, drinking alcohol dehydrates you, so you should drink water and eat to cure one. Eating will soak up the alcohol (apparently) but should also make your stomach feel better. Another cure is a good old puke. Some people don't like to puke but sometimes it's the best way to get it out of your system. Although don't force yourself the day after. By then its probably too late.

Re: is this a hangover or something worse? You don't have any source because what you've "found" is wrong, I'm afraid. Ethanol causes dehydration, and dehydration is the reason behind your hangover. So why would you think ingesting more ethanol could cure the problem?... Try a bottle of water next time.(Original post by OMGWTFBBQ)

Re: is this a hangover or something worse?Good advice, also a little to add, that the food is beneficial as it adds vital salts, energy and vitamins to your body that you lost whilst being drunk. Being drunk is stressful on the body and to recover its important that you aid your body with some calories to get back on track.(Original post by willbee)

Water + Food + Adequate time = No hangover
Not sure about hair of the dog? In my experience this has led to further sickness. -
Re: is this a hangover or something worse?Hair of the Dog worked for me in Freshers' Week. I didn't have a hangover once for the first three weeks, and I was out drinking every night pretty much. But then the next two weeks were pretty bad after I'd stopped... Still, I think that was a combo of more alcohol than I'd ever had before and freshers' flu, which hit my corridor pretty badly thanks to some stomach bug my mate brought from home.(Original post by iSMark)

Re: is this a hangover or something worse?I'm not always sure it is the alcohol that is causing the hangover. e.g. a wkd, vk, or vodka red bull all have extremely high sugar levels. drink about 6-7 of these and you're drunk but also the sugar high is present, the downer in the morning can be pretty bad.(Original post by z0tx)

I'm not disagreeing though, and I've always found that having a drink during a hangover generally makes it worse.Last edited by iSMark; 22-04-2012 at 01:37. -
Re: is this a hangover or something worse? You drank four times over your limit, barely slept, ate one meal in probably 20 hours, presumably walked some distance in town AND you've been drinking again today. I would drink a hell of a lot of water and go to sleep(Original post by Anonymous)

Could be a hangover but the bear probably had something to do with it too! That or you're just really **** at spelling.
