*HELP* What will I need for uni?
Hello there,
This is to all you uni students out there!
When I was doing my A-Levels, I found that some subjects needed folders (Biology-2 big ones!) and that some didn't (Chemistry - barely one) so I was wondering what I'd need for uni? I quite like taking notes but tend not to look at most of them again, so what would be the best way to organise things?
I'm going to be studying Biology. There are 4 compulsory modules and 2 optional modules in first year, one of which might be from a different subject eg french.
so should i have different folders for each module? will I need any of my A-Level notes/books for reference? Should I bring my A-Level notes or should I just empty those folders so I can re-use them? What other things could I need?
The thing is, I'm moving 300 miles to go to uni. So I can't really 'pop back' for anything I might need, I really need to get it right first time!
Thanks for any help, feel free to make any comments! -

Re: *HELP* What will I need for uni?that's a good idea, I'm on a gap year at the moment so I've probably got the time to go through them a bit. Thanks!(Original post by RibenaRockstar)
The shops in Durham don't sell the OP's own notes.
Maybe take your most condensed notes that you used for revision, but shove them into a giant box file or a massive A4 envelope or something to free up your folders for uni notes. -
Re: *HELP* What will I need for uni?No worries. For example, my main revision thing is I use those 4x6 index cards, so I'll take those from Politics.(Original post by canŵio)

i used those for chemistry, they'd probably be helpful! i've also got a whiteboard at home, i think i'll bring that.
what about organising time and deadlines?
do you find it more helpful to have a wall planner/diary/filofax? -
Re: *HELP* What will I need for uni?
Most of what we did in A level was recapped at uni, and therefore we had that information in books/lecture notes anyways. I didn't take any A level notes with me and certainly didn't suffer for it.
I have large lever arch folders - 1 per semester, and just use dividers to divide modules. I don't really see the need for separate folders considering the notes, once taken, never need to be carried with me back to uni for any reason, they just need to be in my room for when I want to revise. -
Re: *HELP* What will I need for uni?I have a filofax - I can't stand wall planners, I like being able to carry it round.(Original post by canŵio)

In fact, I just wrote a blog post in which I showed my filofax - http://theprettychallenge.blogspot.c...oundworld.html - at the bottom of the post. -

Re: *HELP* What will I need for uni?Have a look at this website too http://philofaxy.blogspot.co.uk/(Original post by canŵio)
oh, that sounds great! i'm going to start looking... now!
All about Filofaxes.
Paperchase also do nice own-brand ones which are cheaper and quite fun. As well as my pink one in the pictures, which is a real Filofax, I have a really cute Paperchase one with strawberries all over it.
