how small are the standard rooms really? are they the same for all the halls?

Re: accomodation at leicester university 2012
Hi sorrry if this is late, I'm a first year Psychology student and I live in Beaumont Hall in Oadby. Generally the blocks are mixed sex but boys and girls will be seperated onto different floors e.g in my block there are 22 of us and there are 11 boys on the ground floor and 11 girls on the first floor but we socialise all the time. It's hard to say what a standard room is like as all the Halls are so different, my room is a standard ensuite room and is a really good size with a very small bathroom but that doesn't bother me. I'm catered and I would say the food is tolerable, I've had some reallyyyy nice meals in Halls as well as bad ones, so if you're an extremely fussy eater then I'd say go self-catered. I'm obviously incredibly biased because I live there but I would say Beaumont is the best and has a really good social life, but I have friends in other halls who love where they live so anywhere can have a good social life. Hope this helps

Re: accomodation at leicester university 2012
I lived in Digby in my first year. There are 6 blocks in a U shape, each with 24 people in them. In my block we had 12 guys downstairs and 12 girls upstairs, with 4 toilets/showers on each floor. The rooms are fairly big, I had 5 people come to visit me and they all fit in on the floor/bed.
We were all friends after the first day and we did everything together, go out, eating, etc. I had so much fun in my first year it was great. The food isnt amazing, it isnt bad, its just what it is. Its much more convenient that self catering though.
All the halls are good in their own way.
I help run the open days at the uni and there are still some left that are coming up on:
Wednesday 27 June 2012
Thursday 26 July 2012
Friday 27 July 2012
You can take a tour of the accommodation on these days so its worth going if you can.
