1. M1 Hard problem help please.
I have had a really good go but ended up with a laughable mess which is just so wrong and I have no idea what to do, help would be appreciated please.

The question:

2. Re: M1 Hard problem help please.
Can you show some working

It looks fairly straightforward resolving vertically and horizontally

That's what I did. Then I tried to substitute the T1= and T2= into the 20gN= to try and resolve but ended up with lots of mess.
4. Re: M1 Hard problem help please.
so you know cos and therefore the angle

and there is a connection between t1 and t2

You have not got the correct Ts in the 3 times bit Read the Question again

Ok, so I fixed the 3 times bit, but I'm still lost.

Am I right in thinking the equation goes.

20gN=T1+T2*sinTheta

So T1=T2*3

and T2= T3*2 ?
6. Re: M1 Hard problem help please.
I set up T2 = 2T

Then T3 = T

And T1 = 6T

This made my working much clearer

However ... from your working on the paper you know what cos=

I've tried it a billion ways now and I always end up with two unknowns on each side.

But you have

At the end of the working that you showed

Then you only have one unknown ... so I do not know how you still have an equation with 2 unknowns
